Sieve junks mail script creating links
My Junk mailbox is still filling up with hard linked emails. There are some junk mails with over 3000 hard linked files and over half a million files in the .Junk/cur folder. I had a handy script to remove them all by doing a find for inodes and sorting the list by age and keeping the olds hard link and removing all the others, but I now can?t find it :/ so I have just taken to periodically

Checking validity of NHS numbers
Hello I need to check that the NHS numbers in my database are valid. I''m storing them as ten-digit strings: the first nine are the identifier and the tenth is a check digit. There are four steps to calculating the check digit (from http://www.connectingforhealth.nhs.uk/systemsandservices/nsts/docs/tech_nn_check_digit.pdf): 1. multiply each of the first nine digits by a weighting factor

WINE and older games
I know that there is always the push for the latest and greatest games to be working under WINE, but it's always been a little irritating to me, that as the owner of systems that tend to not be up to par to playing the latest and greatest, that older DirectX 7 and below games really don't feel like they've been giving the TLC that they may deserve. I've been an ongoing quest for

lm#contrasts#one level in factor: bug or feature
(R.1.9.1; win2000) Since it's about the tenth time I had to write an "if" around this to catch the error ... Let's look at the line myfit<-lm(res~groupvar,data=Data) Here res is of numeric type and groupvar is a factor. On first sight, it would be logical that if groupvar had only one (single) level we would get: Error in "contrasts<-"(`*tmp*`, value =

[LLVMdev] doxygen build fails
Hi I've tried to get doxygen documentation by configuring with --enable-doxygen. Then 'make install' has been interrupted with message "error: configuration file /media/data/virtual/share/gsoc/build/docs/doxygen.cfg not found!". mikem, why did you remove a line "AC_CONFIG_FILES([docs/doxygen.cfg])" in autoconf/configure.ac [1] ? I've restored this line. Now

[LLVMdev] [GSoC] Increase the coverage of Polly

It looks like a reasonable first version, but it obviously needs to be extended for the final application. I would also recommend to install Polly and try to find the first test cases that cannot be handled. Some comments to your

Vernier Caliper function vernier()
Hi Folks, I don't think I'm up to implementing a function for drawing French Curves, as requested by "dream". However, the discussion about it took me back so vividly to the old days that, paranormally, I felt once again the urge to ascertain magnitudes as it used to be, and should be, done. I have therefore implemented, and hereby donate to the R community, a new function

Call Stealing
Hi All, I'd appreciate some help on how to implement "call stealing". That is, where you dial a code to redirect any call on the system to your handset. I'm getting rid of my BRI service and I'm trying to replace the functionality of my existing ISDN2e PBX (Cybergear Gold) with VOIP and Asterisk. On my ISDN PBX, the short-code *46 does this. For example, if I take a call on

debugging package
I am trying to debug a package to submit it to CRAN and am getting a bunch of error messages. Most of the errors are because of the Rd files which were automatically populated by the package.skeleton function. I find the section on documentation to be pretty confusion in the R Extensions manual. Any help on getting these errors fixed would be hugely appreciated. Thanks. --Markus * checking for

Thief 2 crashes after a few minutes
Hello everyone. Long time wine user, first time poster. I've been trying to get Thief 2 to work. It installed without a hitch, and by all accounts runs perfectly, but after about 3 or 4 minutes of game play, it freezes up on me and I have to kill the process. No amount of googling or studying the appdb entry has been able to help me. It would be much appreciated if someone could give me

[LLVMdev] [GSoC] Increase the coverage of Polly
Hi. I see that to detect scops firstly we search for regions in CFG ( by RegionInfo ) and then select regions that answer some requirements ( in ScopDetection ). Because only affine expressions in conditions and bounds are permissible, we trying to get scalar expressions into affine form by AffineSCEVIterator. At present there plugs for scev types Truncate, ZeroExtend, SignExtend, UDivExpr,
