Dovecot and Solr 6
Hi!
Dovecot 2.2.24
Had set up solr and new schema collection. Copied dovecot provided
schema. There was an error with booleans (while getting schema via
http), which I "solved" by removing "add-unknown-fields-to-the-schema"
from solrconfig.xml. It is correct way to solve this?
Anyway, I run tcpdump to see network activity between dovecot and solr:
#tcpdump -i lo port 8983

I configured fts_solr for dovecot, but I have two issues
When doing a search request within telnet 127.0.0.1 143 it connects to solr.

Thanks,
but how? I looked through solr documentation and found anything useful.
For now got it working setting up nginx and strip down the header, but I
think it isn't the proper solution.
Cheers

Solr
Well, "break-imap-search" option prevent dovecot from starting.
I used solr on one server since yesterday.
First feedback is that
* BODY search is not working
* FTS is not really working in headers : For instance, if you search
"kliinik" but you type "kliini" (missing one k), the search does not
return anything , whereas it shall return more results (as the

also, the value "break-imap-search" is not supported in fts_solr
parameter, contrary to the wiki
and not sure then how to enable full text search in BODY

Solr
Hi
I am giving Solr another try.
Using Solr 7.5 (from Archlinux AUR), I do not see anymore
the"solr/conf/schema.xml" neither the "managed-schema" folder. (as per
https://wiki.dovecot.org/Plugins/FTS/Solr)
Maybe some things have moved ?
Thank you so much

Schema Patch to get Dovecot running with Solr 4.10.3
Hello,
AFAIK a known problem with newer Apache Solr versions. If you patch Dovecots
solr-schema.xml Dovecot will work with Solr 4.10.3:

Squat does resolve the problem (fts, partial search, etc...)

Strategy for fts and Replication
Hi Philon,
Thanks a lot for your thoughts!
Can I ask you if using Solr improved things for you? I have a mailbox
with 15 years of e-mail and searching things take a long time.

Hi,
yesterday i tried to setup Dovecot with Solr (3.6.2) + Tika (1.8) for
FTS. i used a fresh Debian 8.0 system in the beginning with Dovecot

fixed in 2.2.14+, so i tried 2.2.18.
