External Program for Authentication?
Is it possible to run a bash script for authentication where a 0 exit
code indicates success and a non-zero is failure? What I'm trying to do
is create a shadow IMAP server that authenticates against a different
server. That way my server will use the same passwords as an existing
server.
So what I would need is for dovecot to pass the username and password to
my script, I attempt to log

Packages missing from repo
Hi,
Since a couple of weeks the Dovecot packages for Debian Jessie and
Ubuntu Trusty have disappeared from the repo. According to
https://repo.dovecot.org/ they should be in
https://repo.dovecot.org/ce-2.3-latest/debian/jessie and
https://repo.dovecot.org/ce-2.3-latest/ubuntu/trusty, but that leads to
a 404. Where can I find them?

bash script hook lda_mailbox_autocreate for generate mail-crypt user encrypted private key with user password
What it is way most best for causing bash script run (as root) of time
mailbox created (lda_mailbox_autocreate)?
I use dovecot 2.3.4.1 in Debian 10.
And I use of mail-crypt-plugin
https://doc.dovecot.org/configuration_manual/mail_crypt_plugin/
I setup mail-crypt for requiring user encrypted EC key
(mail_crypt_require_encrypted_user_key = yes). I want for passphrase
encrypt EC key using client

MySQL 8.0: Supported?
It appears the issue is MySQL 8.0.13 apparently(?) removed the mysql_init
symbol.
poudriere logs:
http://home.lerctr.org:8888/jail.html?mastername=p120amd64-host-ports
the first build is 8.0.12, the 2nd is 8.0.13.
Can the dovecot guys look as well? I've sent a note to the MySQL
maintainer for FreeBSD as well.
Thanks.

Health check curl example
I am not understanding how this health check[1] script should work. From
the commandline it works fine when I type a PING I get a PONG. But how
do I do a curl to this 5001 port?
Tried something like this:
bash-5.0# curl http://localhost:5001/
curl: (56) Recv failure: Connection reset by peer
bash-5.0# curl http://localhost:5001/PING
curl: (56) Recv failure: Connection reset by peer

mail_attachment_detection_options not working
Hi,
I enabled mail_attachment_detection_options on dovecot 2.2.34, in
10-mail.conf I have:
mail_attachment_detection_options = add-flags-on-save
but when an email is delivered in mailbox (Maildir) via LMTP no flag
(HasNoAttachment or HasAttachment) was added.
In dovecot-keywords file I have:
0 $HasNoAttachment
1 NonJunk
2 $HasAttachment
so I thinks that the feature was eanbled but is

Health check curl example
I think I already have that, I am having this configured
service health-check {
# this is the default configuration using the simple PING->PONG
# example health-check.
executable = script -p /bin/health-check.sh
inet_listener health-check {
port = 5001
}
}
bash-5.0# /bin/health-check.sh
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Connection: keep-alive
OK

Problem is for that this is a new user. The new user has no private key. I
need for generating that private key. It do not the sense encrypts
something using a key public if there is no private key. Both key public

Self-signed TLS client certificates
Dear List,
I self-host my e-mail and run Dovecot since ever I do that. Dovecot
version is 2.3.4.1 (f79e8e7e4), running on Debian testing.
Now I am trying to configure Dovecot for client TLS certificates. I have
a self-signed certificate whose private key resides on a smartcard
(Yubikey, to be exact). I wanted Dovecot to accept that TLS client
certificate instead of a password. So I searched and
