Dsync issues since 2.3.11.3.
Hello! I've started seeing intermittent dsync failures since upgrading Dovecot to 2.3.11.3-3 (CentOS 8 using the official Dovecot repo). Access denied error when trying to join XP to Samba Domain
Hi everyone, I know this one has been addressed before. I have had so much trouble getting the IDEALX scripts to work that I set about writing my own and they almost work. The trouble is with the add machine script. The first time I do the join, I get an access denied error message on WinXP. I have verified that an entry for the machine was successfully created in ldap. Then, I try again

dsync, a zero-way synchronisation tool?
Hi folks! I have set up dsync replication with SSH according to http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Replication with the exception of having system users and calling doveadm dsync-server directly from authorized_keys, because the wrapper script posted on the above site is needless (at least in 2.2.10). However, while the two instances connect well to each other, no synchronisation is performed at all, the

[2.3.8] possible replication issue
Hi, some of our customers have discovered a replication issue after upgraded from 2.3.7.2 to 2.3.8. Running 2.3.8 several replication connections are hanging until defined timeout. So after some seconds there are $replication_max_conns hanging connections. Other replications are running fast and successful. Also running a doveadm sync tcp:... is working fine for all users. I can't see

Replication Setup
Hi, I am attempting to setup replication between two hosts running Centos 6.4 and Dovecot 2.2.5. My users are real unix users, so I am trying to run the replication as root user, so that it has the appropriate permissions to run. I have two users at present syd1 and syd2, and the two hosts are called syd1 and syd2 as well. When I start Dovecot with the settings below, nothing happens, and the

See if authenticated user is in group XYZ
I have winbindd running. I run wbinfo -a userXYZ%pass and it succeeds Now I want to know if userXYZ is in group "monkeys", but I dont want to have to have to map anything. Is this possible? Is there a way to just say "give me the windows group names that userXYZ is in?" or "is userXYZ in windows group name 'monkeys'?" Thanks! - Jeremiah

Host Key Verification failed - ssh via cgi
hi, my scenario is this: i have a cgi (on host1) that executes ssh (as userxyz) to a remote server (host2), executes a command to retrieve some data and outputs them to the local browser. on host1: #!/usr/bin/perl -w ... $output = `/usr/local/bin/ssh -l userxyz -x host2 ls -l` ... but i get "Host Key Verification failed" on my apache's error_log. i can do it on the command line,

Pam_mount not working with "sec=krb5"
Mathias, thanks again! This sounds like a very reasonable approach. I know that with remote ssh and public key authentication you can set the limit to a single possible command. is this also possible with AD users? Unfortunately, I don't have 'multiuser' support in my current cifs-utils version 4.8. So I would end up with your designated user being the owner of all the files and

Dovecot LDA munging INBOX access times?
We are running Dovecot 1.0.0 using mbox format (currently in the midst of conversion from UW IMAP). We discovered today that the Dovecot LDA is accessing the user's INBOX at delivery time! Not only do our users rely on this access time being when they last accessed their e-mail, we also rely on it to migrate "inactive" users to cheaper disk. I consider this a major bug for us and
