Quota Check: fs with multiple "noenforcing" mount point
Hi, It seems my previous mail has been lost, I apologize if this is a duplicate. I am using Dovecot 1.1.1 with user's INBOX in /var/mail and other folders in their home directories. I have setup file system quota on /var/mail to limit their usage. I would like dovecot to display such information in IMAP client and ignore all others. OS: Solaris 10 Dovecot version : 1.1.1 file system of

trouble with setting individual quota values for multiple namespaces
Hello all please apologize that I repost this problem again. I tried to get some help several times on the list but did not find/get a solution. I am still struggling to setup different quotas for namespaces. In addition to the default "INBOX" namespace I have created a namespace called "MailArchive" which should have its own quota value of 5G per user. At first I

Getting second quota limit out of database
Hello there, I am working with dovecot v2.2.12, and have setup a user and domain quota by using a quota/quota_rule for user and quota2/quota2_rule for the domain. This works fine when the limit configuration for both is stored inside dovecot configuration files. However, I would like to have the limits configurable on a user and domain base, and that data is stored inside my SQL database.

Does domain quota work and how?
Hello, I'm in the process of moving users from an old dovecot setup with system users to a modern virtual user setup. I can't find good documentation on domain quota. It is mentioned in the docs as quota2 = dict:domain:%d:proxy::quota_domain but not much more. Searching the mailing list or Google doesn't reveal much more info. Searching the German mailing list at jpberlin finds

bug in acl_defaults_from_inbox option
Hi at all, there is a bug in in acl_defaults_from_inbox option: if you define it with ANY value ('yes', 'no', 'whatyouwant', 'xxx') it acts like the value is ALWAYS 'yes', and Dovecot enable it; the only way to disable it, is comment it or delete from configuration file. With 'acl_defaults_from_inbox = no', or 'acl_defaults_from_inbox =

Quota error for disabled namespace
Hello, Some of our users use a dedicated archive mailbox, so we've setup an archive namespace for it, which is by default disabled. This namespace has its own quota which is defined by quota2* settings. Every time a user without archive authenticates, dsync kicks in, lmtp delivers a message or imap is used an Error message gets recorded: "imap(user1): Error: quota: Unknown namespace:

Implementing secondary quota w/ "Archive" namespace
Yeah, I gradually figured out it wouldn't work yesterday when delving back into this and testing. No separate quotas per namespaces until 2.1 or something, I think? So, got any suggestions on getting it to work with v2.x? I found an old thread from 2013 by Andreas (I think?) and he didn't seem to quite be able to get it to work. Actually, though, I'd be happy to even be able to apply

quota not updated
Hi, we're using quota with the maildir backend. When new mail arrives, the quota gets updated. But when mail is expunged, quota stays the same (see imap dialog below). We're using the latest version from hg ( 1.2.13 ). Any ideas? ###quota part from dovecot -n plugin: quota: maildir:User quota quota_rule: *:storage=2000M quota_warning: storage=95%% /usr/local/bin/quota-warning.sh

Implementing secondary quota w/ "Archive" namespace
Hey Everybody? Posted this to the list a couple of months ago, but didn?t get any responses. Is there a better place to ask this question about quota & namespace configuration? Seems like a lot of the discussion here is a little deeper/lower-level than my configuration question, like debugging and development? Thx, Fred > On Sep 20, 2016, at 02:28 PM, Fred Turner <fred at

Implementing secondary quota w/ "Archive" namespace
Hello folks? My first post, so please be gentle? :-) I have a client email server using SSDs for primary user mailboxes, but since the number of users keeps growing and they all seem to be very reluctant to delete anything, I?ve implemented an ?Archive? namespace that stores its mailboxes on a larger HD RAID. The idea is that, as the users approach their quota, they move messages to the Archive

Quota questions
Hi all, I?m a little bit confused about the quota plugin in dovecot and fighting the the issues the people had years ago. I spent readingg the old archives and the mailing list for 3 days and not able to get work some features. Single user quota is fine and simple, the group quota /for example domain based/ makes me unhappy. Setup: CentOS7, dovecot comunity repo, dovecot 2.3.5 1) domain quota

Does quota-status respect quota_grace?
Hello, I have Dovecot 2.2.9 from Debian repository running on AMD64, ext4 filesystem for mail storage. Each mailbox has its own system user, quotas are enforced by file system. Quota settings in configuration are as follows (from doveconf -n): quota = fs:Domain quota:group:inode_per_mail quota2 = fs:Mailbox quota:user:inode_per_mail quota2_grace = 18%% quota_grace = 18%%
