Right, this is not reproducible in the test suite, but I can reproduce
it when I replicate your setup.

Stephan.

No, I am not, I pointed out that dovecot does not writ ether logs, but that is a task generally managed by syslogd. then I said that in my

HTTP DoveAdm API - Possible bug?
Hi all,
It seems that setting userMask in the doveadm http api's "user" command
to anything involving wildcards ?s or *s causes the API to fail.
When using the API with a userMask set to the fully qualified email
address, I get the expected fields back.
From a python shell, with an asterisk causes the following behaviour

Hello list,
Dovecot Version: 2.2.34 (874deae) on FreeBSD

per-user virtual mailboxes
Have given up on getting the global virtual config for now, and am trying to setup the virtual mailboxes for just my user account. Basically, it's behaving exactly as it did when I was trying to use a global config. This, and the lack of errors, is causing me to think that it is something odd in my install as opposed to a configuration issue (full doveconf -n at end)

Dovecot 2.2.34 FTS-SOLR = inconsistent results
Hello,
I'm trying to figure why I have inconsistent results with my fts-solr
powered search:
My test is to find the string "am5oocobey9hait5Wiex8yohgoob9thu" in the
3 emails containing it that I sent to myself:
- Directly on the server:
doveadm search -u username text am5oocobey9hait5Wiex8yohgoob9thu

Same (wrong) result:
1. Send an email with "too6Ouka" in the body
2. Search against "too6Ouka":
# doveadm search -u username mailbox INBOX body too6Ouka
--> No result
3. Force re-index:
# doveadm fts rescan -u username
4. Search again against

Logging is generally done by syslogd, not directly by the process. So no, dovecot is not writing to a file owned by root anymore than postfix is writing to mail.log which is also owned by root.

Extra intermediate certificate when using ssl_alt_cert
I just added an ECDSA certificate to my mail server using ssl_alt_cert (the RSA certificate is specified by ssl_cert), both certificate files contain the certificate and a single intermediate (which currently happens to be the same intermediate from Let?s Encrypt).
When connecting to the server using either RSA or ECDSA ciphers, the server sends the proper certificate, but also sends two

last login tracking
Hello,
I've got dovecot going with postfix and MySQL database for user and
domain storage. Dovecot handles the authentication.
My last login is not working, does anyone have a table example and
configs? I looked at the wiki page on the lastlogin plugin but
obviously what I'm doing isn't working, I keep getting message write
was unsuccessful for the lastlogin ip.
I'd appreciate

[bug] Auth cache, proxy and ITERINDEX
Hi,
today we have exceprienced really major difficulties with our proxy
backend servers. Everything started after enabling auth cache:
auth_cache_size = 100M
auth_cache_verify_password_with_worker = yes
auth_cache_ttl = 1 hour
auth_cache_negative_ttl = 1 hour
Soon after we start receiving lots of calls from our customers about
'missing all e-mail messages'. This was in errors logs on
