dovecot not delivering emails in the right folder
Hello everyone, I'm having trouble getting postfix + dovecot to work correctly. It seems like Postfix is receiving and delivering the emails correctly but dovecot is placing/looking for them in the wrong folder therefore the clients aren't receiving any new emails. I switched from courier and followed a tutorial found here:

dovecot ignoring folder permissions on directory creation
Ubuntu 8.04lts Dovecot 1.2.6 So, further to the 'deliver' problem posted yesterday I've also discovered another issue regarding permissions: files and directories are being created 0600/0700 by the IMAP and deliver process (depending on who gets there first!) preventing use of shared mailboxes. According to documentation: "When creating a new mailbox, Dovecot v1.2+ copies the

Win2K3 Server, in Terminal Session, Problem connecting to SAMBA server.
I have looked for several days and can not find the answer to my problem, but I'm sure it has to be a simple issue. I'm trying to map drives inside Windows Server 2003 Terminal Session from a local Samba server but can't get connected. I figure the problem is in Windows Registry but can't find web page on what needs to be changed to get this working. I built a new Windows 2003

NT network can't browse Samba
Hi, I'm trying to setup a Linux box with Samba (1.9.18p10) and it isn't having any luck making a home for itself on the network. If I go to a Windows95 machine, I see all (well most) machines on the net there, but not the Linux box. I can also not see any other machines from the Linux box. Here is log.nmbd output that repeats every 5 seconds or so: find_workgroup_on_subnet: workgroup

deliver is ignoring mail_access_groups
Ubuntu 8.04LTS Dovecot 1.2.6 Postfix 2.5.1 I'm using dovecot imap/deliver in an environment where I don't want users with shell access to reach their mail folders (partly to do with IMAP ACLs requiring open group permissions and partly to do with not wanting users to mess their mail folders / sieve configs up). I specifically don't want to switch to a "single dovecot

LDA and POP3/IMAP user_query
How do I get IMAP+POP3 vs. LDA to use different user_query statements? The problem is that the input fields are different. IMAP/POP3 is an email address LDA is a username I have written a long statement to try and cater for both however it still only works 99% of the time, and the remaining 1% fails. The 1% that fails sees the mail being delivered to the wrong mbox. In this particular case

sharing NFS mounts
OK, I've been searching the archives and google with little luck... I have a directory which needs to be shared with a number of UNIX clients via NFS and with Windows clients via Samba. What is the best way to do this? Should I configure Samba to share the actual NFS mount? Or should I configure Samba to share the actual filesystem directory? Reason I ask, we were using the former method

sssd on DC for fileserver
Thanks Rowland. 'getent passwd mydomainuser' does return the correct (new, sssd) UID e.g. 1514701182 In my /etc/nsswitch.conf I have: passwd: files sss group: files sss The problem is that when I create a file from a client machine into a samba share on this server, e.g. creating the file \\servername\sharename\newfile.txt, this new file is not owned by UID 1514701182, but

Virtual Maildir as subfolder
I have a setup where google fetches mail from dovecot with pop3s and deletes mail downloaded, so to do this I currently forward a copy of the email to user-fetch at localhost which is the google login and it downloads from that maildir. But it means creating extra folders and I was looking at better ways of doing it. So I have an entry in my user DB file which ends with

Issue with mailbox conversion using dsync in v2.2.32 (maildir <-> mdbox)
Hi all, I've run into an issue with in-place mailbox format conversions between mdbox and maildir and wondered if someone could assist. When using dsync to convert a mailbox, the conversion loses a mailbox GUID and produces a warning. This behavior seems to have been introduced between version 2.2.31 and 2.2.32. See below for the full debug output from both versions followed by the dovecot
