mbox 2 Maildir
W/o downtime: see the wiki page below, the "Converting" section. Briefly for my case something like this should work and generally seems simple (no syntax checking yet, pseudo-code like): * Configuration uses mail_location = mbox:~/mails * setup per-user mail location and do for each user individually in a serial manner: -- doveadm sync maildir:~/Maildir; mbox is synced to Maildir,

mbox 2 Maildir
Hi, I am experimenting with the migration. I unset mail_location, thus it is empty and dovecot performs automatic mailbox detection. Therefore I do not need per-user set of mail location. I login as a testuser and do: doveadm sync maildir:~/Maildir It seems for me that in this situation the new Maildir becomes the active mail delivery location at the time of the creation(?) or completing the

mbox 2 Maildir
Hi, I am not an professional system admin, but I am running a small debian mail server for many years. It is time to migrate from mbox to Maildir. There is a nice and clean description for doing this without service downtime at https://wiki.dovecot.org/Tools/Doveadm/Sync I have to set per-user config for mailbox type using userdb extra fields. However, I miss some information and I can not

mbox 2 Maildir
I am also migration away from mbox to in my case mdbox. I am not fully aware of something that allows you to do this without downtime. To try to do as much as possible online, I have created an archive namespace and am moving the larger >5GB mbox files with old emails to that. So when the time is there to do convert active mailboxes, I have less to convert. Maybe this is helpful.

LocalWinProfiles
Hi, I do not know if the following is a samba or windows question. It seems to be samba question, and I do not know windows and any windows mailing list... (But I am pretty sure if I ask the local IT persons, they will say it is samba...) I have a windowsXP computer in my win domain (planning to have more XP and win2000) and a linux server with samba. Samba is PDC, win profiles are not

Unable to set ACLs using Windows Security Dialog Box
Hi, I configured Samba to act as a file server on RHEL4, Samba 3.0.10. Everything worked as I expected except owning issue. If an NT user created a folder on the share, it was getting its owner and changing "Owner Group" from "root" to "Domain Users". I wanted to keep "Owner" and "Owning Group" through newly created folders as well as subfolders.

using local-part delimiters in LDA delivery?
hi all, i've exim 4.53RC2 + dovecot-cvs on OSX 10.4.2. i'm working on implementing recipient-delimiters for delivery from exim to a user's imap store using dovecot's cvs-lda. reading on the wiki (Jakob's latest comments?): " ... the part after the delimiter is passed to the lda as an additional parameter. so dovecot-lda should handle that parameter and leave the

The specified network name is no longer available: HELP
I've been tearing my hair out trying to get this to work. Problem: Samba versions 2.2.4 and 2.2.5, running on mandrake 8.2 and 8.1 respectively, both with XFS (the mdk 8.2 machine is using a STOCK kernel 2.4.18-6mdk), the mdk 8.1 machine is using a stock 2.4.18 + xfs 1.1 patch. Windows 2000 SP2 client tries to copy a folder with files in it to the share. Copy seems to start but ends rapidly

writing a dovecot plugin / segfault
Hi together, I am new to this list and new to dovecot itself. I have to write a plugin that implements some ACL-voodoo to be used instead of the standard ACL stuff of dovecot (it shall allow just application-driven folder-sharing - no more, no less). Though I started programming with C, my last experiences are some days old, but now I have written the function sekeletons and the registration

New Rails site: Smatchy.com
A newly released site developed entirely in Rails, known as Smatchy (www.smatchy.com), presents an interesting take on recommendations and could become the standard rather than the exception. The recommendations were more useful than typical sites, especially the ''Unique Recs.'' More info here...

label outliers in geom_boxplot (ggplot2)
Dear List and Hadley, I would like to have a boxplot with ggplot2 and have the outlier values labelled with their "name" attribute. So I did > library(ggplot2) > dat=data.frame(num=rep(1,20), val=c(runif(18),3,3.5), name=letters[1:20]) > p=ggplot(dat, aes(y=val, x=num))+geom_boxplot(outlier.size=4, outlier.colour="green") >

strange problem
Hello. I have a problem that I hope you can help me with. I have 95,98 and NT machines and a Linux box with samba 2.2.5 (or what ever is shipped with redhat) that shares a printer to the windows machines. The problem is now: -the NT machines finds the printer! -the 98 machine finds something, but rejects all passwords (it runs encryot. passwd) -the 95 does not find anything at all. (runs encrypt
