Relocate subfolders to different mount point
I would like to relocate the subfolders of the Sent folder to a different location. Now send messages mail is stored in mbox format at the location /home/users/testuser/mail/.Sent. I would like to store the subfolders Sent/2017 and Sent/2018 at the location /home/archive/users/testuser/.Sent.2017 and /home/archive/users/testuser/.Sent.2018 Is this even possible? I am using currently using

BUG mailboxaliases plugin not working with subfolders
The mailboxalias plugin is not working when subfolders are created, rendering its use quite useless. It should work of course something like this. (then I would be able eg. to put my archive mailboxes on different storage, by just creating one symlink on archive (get it??;)) If there is a new mailbox created And in its path there is a folder/path configured in aliases plugin Get the original

Plugin "lazy_expunge" and subfolder
Hi Timo, hi all, we want to use the "lazy_expunge" plugin (from dovecot 2.1.10) and had configured it in a test environemnt like described in "http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Plugins/Lazyexpunge" (1 namespace) There are some subfolders from "INBOX" (like "INBOX/SPAM") in a "maildir++" configuration. All actions on first level directories

Questions about SPECIAL-USE IMAP extension
Aki Tuomi writes: >>>>> https://wiki2.dovecot.org/Plugins/MailboxAlias > > There is also gotcha that MailboxAlias is not compatible with > mailbox_list_index=yes setting. Thanks. How does this manifests itself: the client gets an inconsistent view of the outgoing mailbox that depends on which mailbox the client is using, or the optimization is broken and dovecot keeps

Mailbox alias plugin and INBOX. folders
Hi, I'm trying to workaround the lack of IMAP folder mapping settings on Windows 10 Mobile in regards to controlling the Sent, Trash etc folder my device uses. Currently, my device creates its own "Sent Items" folder "Deleted Items" folder along with others, this is pain when using clients like Thunderbird which places such them in the correct places, because it can be

Vacation sieve explained: how does it work?
Hi all, I have a legacy system that uses gnarwl to handle vacation messages, most specifically the vacation messages are stored in LDAP. We have a web based tool that allows people to update their vacation message, all they?re doing is modifying LDAP. I am trying to find out if dovecot?s vacation sieve can do the same thing. I am struggling however to find something that describes to me how

IMAP subfolders and MDBOX
Hello We actually use MBOX format on our mailhub but this does not permit to create IMAP subfolders. Many users are asking me fot this feature and I agree with them of course. My problem is to choose the format that will permit imap subfolders creation. Maildir is not my favorite format and I wonder about MDBOX. Does it permit imap subfolders creation ? It is possible to convert from MBOX to

Dovecot doesn't seem to report all subfolders to Thunderbird
Hi, I've recently migrated my emails from a Yahoo account to my own mailserver on a VPS. Ever since then, Thunderbird seems to have issues with the mailbox's directory structure: When I start Thunderbird, it immediately deletes the local copies of all 3rd-level folders (i.e. subfolders of a subfolder of a folder in the mailbox root). Since that didn't happen with the Yahoo account, I

How to see folders/subfolders/emails through imap
Hello all, I am trying to do something very simple - at least thats what I thought. I have some fs, it contains folders and subfolders with email files ordered like maildir. Now I try to set up dovecot on top simply to let some imap account watch these email files. But I cannot see any folders at all. I can create new folders and see them, but I cannot create subfolders as subdirs like

ACL plugin: k permission and sub-subfolders
Hi, I'm trying to disallow the creating of subfolders for some special folder for all users. Using ACL plugin for this seems to work at first glance but is not a full solution or is buggy as it allows the creation of sub-subfolders. I'm using the following ACL and namespace separator is "/": $ cat folder owner lrwstie Note: no "k" permission ("k" =

[Sieve] Unable to fileinto subfolders
