Read the quota_exceeded_message from a file
Hello,
I've tried that (i.e. the < redirect) as described in the wiki, tried with
different spaces , and it didn't work, thus the email to the mailing list.
the text there is simply absent in the email that is sent out. on a side
note, I've tried to use file in /tmp/test and the behavior is funny, I get:

This is not generally true but depends on the service file and the
options used there.

problems with iscsiadm
Hello,
I'm fairly new to centos and to iscsi, I have installed a fresh copy
of centos (CentOS release 5 (Final)) and installed
iscsi-initator-utils, iscsiadm -V shows iscsiadm version 2.0-865 .
when i try to connect to iscsi target it doesnt work ... it just stays
idle , i try something like:
iscsiadm -m discovery -t st -p 172.20.2.76 show
or with -m node .... --login ...etc, none works.

asterisk unable to create files, too many files open
hello,
im having trouble with asterisk with medium load, it seems im running out of
files, here is a chunk of the logs with grep "\(file\|pipe\)":

Thank you for the responses, and I apologize for /tmp issue diverging from
the initial query.
Can someone confirm that the:
quota_exceeded_message =</path/to/file
configuration syntax works for you? If it does then I assume the issue is
on my side, or if it's a bug or so.

Feature request
Hi,
I am implementig Dovecot as a part of my new e-mail server, which is aimed
to be replacement for proprietary software I've been using sofar.
Appreciating all Dovecot rich features, I lack just one. And this is the
ability to customize the "quota exceeded, message rejected" message. I know
I can set it's default content using quota_exceeded_message parameter, but

Custom error messages.
I am using Dovecot 1.2.9.
Is it possible to have custom error messages? I want to translate some of
the messages (for instance mailbox full), so it can be more user friendly. I
already use the quota warning feature. But I need to translate the messages
anyways, is it possible?

Special characters in dovecot.conf
Hi all,
I've configured "quota_exceeded_message" in dovecot 1.2, but I have two
questions:
- Can I use "CRLF" in it? I'd like have two messages: english and spanish.
- If char character set in dovecot.conf is ASCII, How do I set special
characters (spanish)? The email received is in UTF-8

Sieve filtering SPAM and redirect
Hi every body. I'm having difficulties to setup my filters correctly
and I really need some help.
This is my environment:
Mail that is received on the system passes through a sieve_before
script that checks the message header for SPAM tag and store it into
the "Junk" folder. If no spam tag is found, mail goes to inbox.

Enforcing Dovecot Quotas
Hello,
I have been looking at enforcing quotas for users of my mail system (postfix
and Dovecot v1.2). Have tried to follow a few tuts on the web but its not
having the desired effect. Essentially I can still send and receive mail on
an account that I believe has had its quota exceeded.
In my main.cf, I have:

dsync with quotas
I have been working on converting people from courier maildir -> dovecot
mdbox and during some of the dsync runs I'm seeing the
quota_exceeded_message be printed as an Error:
dsync(<user>): Error: Can't save message to mailbox INBOX: You are over quota. To avoid losing mail, immediately empty your Trash and Sent folders and \
delete emails with large attachments.

rejecting mail due to quota exceeded

we are using dovecot's deliver to deliver mails to a virtual mailbox
tree owned by the vmail user, by piping the message to the following
command spawned by vmail:
/usr/bin/env HOME=/srv/vmail/mydomain.ch/myaccount /usr/lib/dovecot/deliver
When a message is delivered to an account that has reached its

Set up global quota according to docs to 2 Mb.
Send more than ten Mb on the box.
Mail still getting put in the box, no bounces, no error messages in
logs, nothing to prevent mail to be delivered in overflooded mailbox.
