Using both starttls and ssl in passdb on proxy results in timeouts
I tried some more things, such as setting starttls=NULL or ssl=NULL, which does the same as setting it to ?no?. Interestingly, if I set ssl=NULL and don?t set starttls at all, it still tries an SSL connection to the backend. Is there no way to use starttls or ssl depending on a variable? It could also be possible that I have starttls-backends and ssl-backends which would be a similar use-case to

Dovecot Proxy
Hi Philon, now, it's time for "Mahlzeit" ;-) Sorry, that I read the wiki1 instead of wiki2. I thought the 1 means that it is server one of ... my fault. Also not reading the first line above the menu. My focus was really on the content. ;-) Also my problem with the doc of Dovecot2 proxy is, that the document https://doc.dovecot.org/configuration_manual/authentication/proxies/

Submission config being ignored
I'm having trouble setting up submission with Dovecot proxy. The submission config seems to be getting ignored, but I'm probably doing something wrong. Expected behaviour: have messages sent to submission ports (25, 465) relayed to `submission_relay_host`. -- root at imapproxy1:~# cat /etc/dovecot/conf.d/20-submission.conf submission_logout_format = in=%i out=%o submission_relay_host =

Dovecot Proxy
Hello everyone, it's my first post here on this mailing list and I hope, I make it right. I posted a question on https://serverfault.com/questions/1031441/dovecot-as-proxy-with-submission and nobody was able to answer it. So I decided to push that question here (I'm talking about any new dovecot version and I've tested it with 2.3.4.1 (f79e8e7e4)). I try to run a dovecot proxy

Is it possible to disable pipelining in imapc?
Hi, I've a broken IMAP server, which doesn't support pipelining and fails on dovecot's attempt to do this ([C] is dovecot's imapc, [S] is the IMAP server): [C] 24 LOGIN "user" "pass" [S] 23 OK [C] 25 SELECT "INBOX" [C] 23 UID FETCH 2 (INTERNALDATE) [S] 25 OK [S] 23 BAD No mailbox selected Sadly, fixing the server would be a hard task, turning off

mail_crypt crashing randomly during LMTP
Hello everybody, hope you?re all well! We have a really strange bug with our dovecot setup. After weeks and month of debugging we?re finally reached the point when we ask you for help. Our basic setup is quite simple: a single dovecot 2.3.10 (0da0eff44) install on Debian 10 with LDAP as user/passdb and sieve, imap_sieve and mail_crypt as mail_plugins. For the mail_crypt we have a special rule

BUG dovecot and nginx
we have setup a two level proxy configuration for our zimbra server: [ dovecot 2.2.12 (imap proxy mode) ] V [ nginx (imap proxy mode) ] V [ zimbra imap server] and it does not work ... after tying a login, the connection just hangs and ends after 30 seconds with a timeout. - if I try again rightaway in the same dovecot connection, the login goes though without trouble.

Dovecot Proxy
Hi Thoralf, I?d say first of all you should read the current docs for 2.x not the archived stuff. ?> https://wiki2.dovecot.org/ - (It?s even mentioned in bold in the header) Then to front multiple backends perhaps you want to take a look at Dovecot Director. ?> https://wiki2.dovecot.org/Director About SMTP I?m not sure why you would want to rely on Dovecot for that. I only do Postfix with

Hi, I'm using dovecot 2.2.9 with a director/backend setup. The user base is about 4711 users currently. Possible IMAP IDLE bug in Dovecot 2.2.18 and 2.2.25
Hello Guys, I guess that I found a bug in Dovecot 2.2.18 and 2.2.25 versions. The problem it's when I try to connect in a Dovecot used a proxy to another e-mail server (in our case it's a Smartermail Server) the DoveCot send a lot of IDLE commands to the destination server. With that, the LOG files grow and grow and grow :( I make a test with 1 connection only and if you see

Memory leak in ocfs2/dlm?
Hi! Seems we're facing some memory leak here. This is vanilla 2.6.19-rc6 on a x86_64 box, 4GB RAM. A simple `ls -Rn' on a filesystem with lots of files makes the box leak so much RAM that the OOM killer starts to kick in. With slab alloc debugging turned on, we see this: # mount; ls -Rn; wait some seconds; Ctrl-C [root@lnxp-1038:/backend1]$ cat /proc/slab_allocators | egrep
