I tried reproducing your problem and I only can make it happen if I run
the test suite as root, which is not supported.

make check (pigeonhole)
Hello list,
During the 'make check' (pigeonhole) portion of a building (rpmbuild) a
dovecot.spec file I'm getting the following error:
testsuite(root): Fatal: Couldn't drop privileges: User is missing UID
(see mail_uid setting)
I'm not sure how to resolve this, and any help would be appreciated to
help me finish the creating the rpm

Dovecot User Listing Error - getpwent() failed: Invalid Argument
This is bit of a longshot, but can you try applying
https://github.com/dovecot/core/commit/63a74b9.patch and see if this helps?

Dovecot User Listing Error - getpwent() failed: Invalid Argument
I have no idea why it's returning invalid argument, maybe you need to
raise this as issue with glibc?

lib-master test failure i686
Hello List,
I've built and checked successfully dovecot and dovecot-pigeonhole on
CentOS 6 x86_64
Immediately below are the successful make check (ok) tests of dovecot
'lib-master' (x86_64).
Below that are the unsuccessful (fails) tests of dovecot 'lib-master' on
i686.
Does anyone have a clue as to why these test would fail on i686?
