doveadm mailbox list shows file system directories as mailboxes
Hello.
In our dovecvot we use mbox format with the default filesystem layout.
Therefore it is not possible to have mailboxes which are subfolders of
other mailboxes containing messages.
The command "doveadm mailbox list" includes the file system
directories, that contain only subfolders, as normal mailboxes in the
output:
archiv
archiv/daemon
archiv/dovecot

doveadm can't import his own mdboxes
We're running Dovecot 2.1.17 on Debian:

# OS: Linux 2.6.32-042stab078.27.debug i686 Debian 7.1 simfs
and we're having this namespace configuration:
mail_location = mdbox:/var/mail/%Ld/%Ln/mdbox
namespace inbox {
disabled = no
hidden = no
ignore_on_failure = no
inbox = yes
list = yes

with mbox format doveadm ignores subfolders of inbox
Hello.
After we switched the format from mbox to mdbox on our dovecot
(version 2.1.9) servers last week, some of our users were missing the
subfolders of their inboxes. So far we thought that with the mbox
format it is not possible to have mail folders containing both
messages and subfolders. Now we know that there is one exception from
this rule: the inbox. With mbox format dovecot

doveadm mailbox delete not working
I have a user who has several folders in his mailbox, which we can not

doveadm mailbox delete not working
One more update, I tried renaming that "[Test " folder to just "Test",
which creates an also not deletable folder "Test".
Good news is, if I delete these folders on both replication nodes from
mdbox/mailboxes and mdbox/subscriptions they seem to be really gone.
I can event create the folder "Test" again and it behaves normal aka. I
can delete it afterwards

doveadm index crashes when indexing shared mailboxes
Hi,
We store our mail archive in a tree of subfolders. I am trying to speed
up text searching on our mail archive but when running "doveadm -D -v
index -u neil shared/Exalon/Aandeelhouders" the following output is
produced:
doveadm(neil): Debug: Loading modules from directory:
/usr/lib/dovecot/modules

What's the dovecot-acl in .INBOX and the three directories mentioned
above?
Or:

Replication and LAYOUT=fs
Hello folks,
I have a problem with replication and mail_location with LAYOUT=fs set.
If I set "mail_location = maildir:~/mail" (leaving out the :LAYOUT=fs),
create and populate some mailboxes and subfolders, they all get
replicated. If I start with a clean mail spool and LAYOUT=fs, I can
create some new mailboxes and subfolders but only the inbox is
replicated. Subfolders are ignored.

No status for INBOX/* in mbox NS (2.1.6)
Maybe it's fixed, but the last "interesting" text in the Changelog was
before 2.1.6.
Most of our users still have mboxes in the classical layout, so you
can't have subfolders and messages in the same folder, *except for the
INBOX*, as it is physically separate.
Someone complained that he saw subfolders in roundcube he couldn't
delete, because they didn't show up in the

doveadm acl recursive
Hello,
I try to set acl settings on a public folder including its subfolders.
There is no option for acting recursive. But the documentation says
wildcards can be given on the mailbox name. But this doesn't work.
No matter how the mailbox name is provided with a wildcard, doveadm
always tells Mailbox doesn't exist.
Folder example:
public/project1
public/project1/subdir1

doveadm import with subfolder oddity
This has got to be something weird in my config. And the standard
disclaimer of '"happy to post doveconf -n, but wanted to see if this is
normal first" :)
Background: Ubuntu Xenial, running 2.2.36. Mailbox type is mdbox and I've
got a period separator in my inbox namespace:
namespace {
hidden = no
inbox = yes

Break up massive INBOX?
I have inherited a 10+ GB mailbox which dsync converted to maildir very
nicely. But 15GB in tens of thousands of messages is too much in one
INBOX when used in webmail.
I guess it's best to divide the messages into subfolders for date.
Is there a server-side way to safely move messages into new subfolders
so that Dovecot indexes and UIDs won't break? If I write a shell script
to move

Regression ACL & namespace prefix
Hi,
thanks for the answer. I think your environment was not set up correctly
to reproduce this bug. I've retested with 2.3.5 and I can still
reproduce it. I've attached a script that will configure everything for
testing and if you have a virtual machine available, you can use it
directly (it expects linux with systemd for dovecot restart).

acls not copied when creating subfolder of private INBOX
Using brand new dovecot 2.1.5 I still have a problem with the inheritance of acls.
Setting:
- maildir with private INBOX and public folders.
- users maildir directory (/home/mail/user/ahelmcke) contains dovecot-acl file
- public folders root directory (/home/mail/Fax) contains dovecot-acl file
When creating a subfolder of the public folder the dovecot-acl files gets copied to the subfolders
