replication fails and corrupts index with zlib enabled
Hi, I have two Debian Jessie servers with Dovecot 2.2.13 TCP replication on that have worked fine for years, but now one of them is running low on disk space, so I wanted to try enabling zlib. I crafted a script following the description given in https://wiki.dovecot.org/Plugins/Zlib and xz'ed some inboxes on the stand-by server, the one with low disk space. So every email in those inboxes

IMAP COPY creates invalid index data with zlib and mail_log plugins enabled but zlib_save off
I've noticed that maildir IMAP COPY commands can generate invalid dovecot.index entries when all seven of the following are true: - The zlib plugin is enabled; - The zlib_save/zlib_save_level options are NOT enabled; - The source message being copied is compressed; - The mail_log plugin is logging "copy" events; - The mail_log_fields setting includes at least one message header; -

This is likely fixed in more recent version, can you try with 2.2.36? Error: Raw backtrace and index cache
Firstly, 2.2.13 is about 5 years old. So there's that. It would be helpful if you can reproduce this with 2.2.36. Also, you forgot to actually include in your log snippet the panic. So maybe few more lines before the Raw backtrace? Aki On 20.11.2019 10.54, Maciej Milaszewski IQ PL via dovecot wrote: > Hi > I have "problem" with dovect 2.2.13 from repo debian8 and I don't

Hello. I wrote about this three weeks ago but got no answer. I'm going to officially "forward" the Debian bug this time, with all the details. The test case is just 840 bytes long. Corrupted index cache file - migration with zlib
Hi I'm migrating some mailboxes from an old dovecot system where mailboxes are stored maildir uncompressed. I enabled zlib on the new system and migrated an account: doveadm -o mail_fsync=never backup -R -u tonyg imapc: when the account connects to the new system after a while i'm seeing the following error and the mailbox is no longer functioning: Jan 15 13:58:06 S611 dovecot:

Corruption of index files
Hi All, after upgrading my mail server (dovecot 1.1.7 -> 2.2.13) I get tons of messages about corrupted index files in the syslog ("Error: Corrupted transaction log" and "Warning: fscking index file .. dovecot.index". I tried flock and even dotlock, but the problems persist. The system is a VPS with an overlay filesystem which did work flawlessly with the old dovecot

Error: Corrupted record in index cache file
With dovecot-2.2.36-3.el7.x86_64 we had a couple hours where mail_plugins did not properly include zlib for all of the needed services. This seems to have led to some corruption in our mdbox mailboxes. I've run doveadm force-resync on a number of users, but I'm still seeing messages like this: dovecot[13563]: imap(USER): Error: Corrupted record in index cache file

Help with transaction log and index file corruption.
I am using dovecot 2.2.13 on a VPS. One (only one!) of the users is experiencing IMAP disconnections. The maillog file is full of errors about corrupted transaction log and index files. The configurations follows: # 2.2.13: /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf # OS: Linux 2.6.18-028stab107.1 x86_64 CentOS release 6.4 (Final) auth_cache_size = 1 k auth_mechanisms = plain login auth_username_chars =

mail-filter plugin v2.2 - corrupts IMAP indexes?
Hi, I'm trying out the mail-filter plugin (v2.2, with Dovecot 2.2.5 built from source), and it seems like any nontrivial filter causes some sort of index corruption that breaks IMAP use. i.e. using a null filter (basically `cat -`) for mail-filter.sh and mail-filter-out.sh appears to work fine, and the debug logging shows it's using the filters (though it reports the wrong Unix socket

Feature request: client bind address for replication
Hi would it be possible to consider a new parameter for replication: doveadm_local_ip which allows the source ip address to be set when connection to a remote dovecot for replication? It could be useful when the network interface has multiple ips and a specific one is used for mail services. See attached proposal. I tested against 2.2.36 only. It applies correctly against 2.3.4 with a warning,.
