dovecot Digest, Vol 173, Issue 28 (INTERNAL)
Hi,
I enabled rawlog.
Everything seems to be OK but the dovecot-log shows a fatal error and core dump. (created a core file)

dovecot Digest, Vol 173, Issue 28 (INTERNAL)
Hi,
It is quite easy.
I use a client (thunderbird or windows live mail) set it up to use starttls on standard port 110. Logon and just do a list on the mailbox. The fatal error occurred when I logoff.

[IMAP] Nothing in INBOX
Hey all,
I've just installed Postfix + Dovecot on Xubunto 14.04 LTS.
Following this page :
Setup a mail server with Postfix and Dovecot on Ubuntu / Debian
<http://www.binarytides.com/install-postfix-dovecot-debian/>
although I'm able to send emails to GMail and other kind of domain, nothing
appears on Thunderbird INBOX, nor using openssl :

imap doesn't like my passwd
I spent days on this problem.
I have dovecot setup to use SSL and IMAP.
I also have a pop account that I had no trouble getting working.
Both use PAM authentication on Linux.
openssl s_client -connect localhost:993
a login test_user test_secure_password
The response I got back was:
a BAD Invalid characters in atom
I changed the password to "abc" and it worked.
The secure password used

Oh you have multiple db's, I missed that.
Remove auth_username_format, and instead
userdb {
args = /etc/imap.passwd username_format=%Ln
driver = passwd-file
override_fields = home=/var/vmail/glu_vrem/%u
}

Automatic purging of old email in all mailboxes
Forgive me, I'm a novice. Consider that today I have already set up a
working postfix + Dovecot server with userdb using the static driver and
passdb using a password file (in the format <username>:{hashing
algorithm}<password hash>). The Dovecot server has several mailboxes which
are already in use today.
I understand that I'll need to change over to using the passwd-file

per user quota
Hello!
I activated quota
plugin {
quota = maildir:User quota
quota_rule = *:storage=1GB
# 10% of 1GB = 100MB
quota_rule2 = Trash:storage=+10%%
}
But when I want to do per user quota in the passwd-file
...vhosts/anup.de/anmeyer::userdb_mail=maildir:~/userdb_quota_rule=*:bytes=10G
I get this in the logfile and can't login:

Best practice for getting sieve scripts replicated?
Hi ?
I do have replication between two servers running, and mail is replicated without any issues.
I do have sieve running at both servers without any issues.
But replication of sieve scripts doesn't work as "expected":
Whenever I do modify my default script und upload it via "doveadm sieve put -u abc -a default < default" it becomes uploaded to the home directory of

maybe should I turn on something?

getent not working (again)
Hi all,
after I searched the internet about a week now I can't find an answer to my
problem:
The company I work for is using a Windows 2003 Domain using the Windows
Services for UNIX (SFU) and NIS. We are using two Domain Controllers that
are hosting the ADS.
Now I want to use Samba and NFS to implement a file server for our mixed
client enviroment: There will be Linux, HP UNIX, Solaris,

AW: getent not working (again)
I don't think that this is my problem. When I try 'getent passwd <user>' I
get no output either. And we only store about 200 users. Is bug 3024 fixed
in the newest version? I will try to apply the patch.
