Shortly after this post, I found a solution here: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=1097725
In order to see the .Dennis\ Email.Dennis\ Inbox sub-folder you have to collapse and re-expand
the folder list in Thunderbird. It's that simple ... AND that annoyingly obscure!
Thanks for your help! --Mark

getent passwd does not show correct UID.GID
I've moved a user from being in /etc/passwd to being a proper domain user. I've added the user
with RSAT with UID.GID 10005.10000. I've removed the user from /etc/passwd. However, getent
continues to show the user with his old UID:
# getent passwd mpress
HPRS\mpress:*:3000031:10000:Mike Press:/home/HPRS/mpress:/bin/bash
in ldbsearch it shows the correct UID:GID:
# record 281

Virtual mailboxes and subfolders
Hello again,
I'd like to know if there is a way to have subfolders in virtual
mailbox?
In my virtual namespaces, I have some virtual maiboxes named like this
:
Mailbox
Mailbox.SubMailbox
(the separator is '.')
But when I try to access the submailbox, depending on my client, it
either :
- Tells me the mailbox doesn't exists (Roundcube)
- Don't show me

How do I use plus-addressing in Dovecot 1.1.x?
I'm using Postfix, Amavisd-new/SpamAssassin, and Dovecot. They all run
on the same server (running Linux). The mailboxes are stored on the
same server in maildir format.
The logical path for incoming messages (as I understand it) is:
1) received by Postfix; handed off to Amavisd-new
2) Amavisd-new checks to see whether or not it's spam/undesirable;
hands off to Dovecot deliver

Multiple quota rules from LDAP userdb?
Hello,
I'm just asking myself, how I get multiple quota rules into the LDAP
userdb.
Dovecot is 2.2.9
userdb_attrs = ? fooQuotaRule=quota_rule=%$
which allows me to have an user db entry as
fooQuotaRule: *:storage=1000:messages=50
fooQuotaRule: Trash:storage=500
But, if I'd like to have another quota rule for a submailbox of that
user?
doveadm user returns the first

plus addressing bug in dovecot 1.1.x?
I had recently upgraded from Dovecot 1.0.14 to 1.1.0, and then to
1.1.1. Ever since the upgrade to 1.1.0, I noticed that "plus
addressing" has failed. In case I'm using a foreign phrase, this is
the concept of sending an e-mail to "user+spam at domain.com", and having
dovecot (dovecot LDA, specifically), deliver this to the "spam"
submailbox to

Apparent Maildir permission issue
I've gotten errors like this when it was actually a selinux denial. If you're running
selinux, check those logs too.

Apparent Maildir permission issue
I've just upgraded from Slackware 14.1 to 14.2. I've not done anything with dovecot -- it's the
same version that was running before the upgrade. However, now I'm getting a permission error:
/var/log/maillog:
Jan 16 13:09:44 mail dovecot: imap(mark): Error: opendir(/home/HPRS/mark/Maildir) failed: Permission denied (euid=3000026(HPRS\mark) egid=100(users) missing +r perm:

Cannot delete IMAP Mail-Folder in Trash
We have the same problem, with a twist. When Thunderbird deletes a folder, it is still shown by the GUI. Dovecot deleted the folder correctly, and the sunscriptions file is also correct. Some other times, on shared folders, Thunderbird refuses to delete; in this case, apple mail on iphone can delete successfully. This suggests that the problem is in Thunderbird's code.

Just wanted to point out that you have at different UID for the folder
than your EUID (gotten from userdb/passdb).

iPhone no longer authenticating
I've switched a user to being an active directory user. That user's email client authorizes
just fine with dovecot using GSSAPI. However, now his iPhone won't authorize. In the dovecot
log file I get:
