doveadm backup mdbox - initial copy slow
Hello, when calling doveadm backup like in the following example, it seems to flush every email to disk maxing out harddrives (iops) and resulting in very poor performance: Calling doveadm -o plugin/quota= backup -u "statusmails at domain.com" "mdbox:/backup/vmail/domain.com/statusmails" finished in 212 secs [changes:1800 copy:1800 delete:0 expunge:0] The source mdbox holds

Doveadm Backup issues
Hi, I'm trying to use doveadm backup but I'm having a few issues. When trying locally: `doveadm backup -D -A maildir:/usr/local/backup` It results that no mailbox is separated by user - all seems to sync on the same folder, messing up with the folder structure of the original maildir. When trying remotely: `doveadm backup -D -A -N ssh -i mykey root at myremotebackup.com:/backup

Doveadm backup doesn't interpret placeholders
Hi, Dovecot version: 2.2.27 I'm using replication between two servers for high availability, but I also want to backup all users. I have a setting for the replication to work like this: plugin { mail_replica = tcp:other-dovecot } This is fine, but then I also want to do a backup to a different directory for all users, since I am having trouble with an apparent bug running dovecot

doveadm backup issue with ACL plugin enabled
Hi, when trying to backup mailboxes I noticed some hiccups when the ACL plugin is enabled. It works fine with ACL disabled: $ doveadm -o plugin/quota= backup -u tlx at leuxner.net mdbox:/home/backups/tlx/mdbox However, enabled (and w/ a mailbox actually using ACLs) the following error occurs: $ doveadm -o plugin/quota= backup -u tlx at leuxner.net mdbox:/home/backups/tlx/mdbox dsync(tlx at

"doveadm backup/sync" are badly documented
Most documents around there talk abour "dsync", but the modern way is "doveadm backup". This command is not documented in the wiki and there are a few details missing, like how to use it thru SSH. I am currently doing some tests about how to backup my mdbox. I can do tests in local using: $ doveadm backup -u jcea -m proveedores/dovecot mdbox:/tmp/aa/ This will

Create the directory /tmp/backup which is empty 2. Run doveadm -v backup -u testuser at ubuntu-test.localdomain mdbox:/tmp/backup/ Then I see the following errors: doveadm -v backup -u testuser at
