Quota status to postfix in distributed environment (Karol Augustin)
Hi Karol Thanks for taking time to go through the email and replying. I'll rewrite the issue again --> For example consider there two nodes. These each having their postfix and dovecot. I am trying to implement quota status to postfix to both the below cases:- case 1) mail sent within the node case 2) mail sent across the nodes In case 1 the postfix will query the dovecot of same node

Separate home and mail folders problem on delivery
Hello, I am using dovecot 1.2rc series on my mail server combined with postfix ( virtual users with postgre ). I have setup separate home and mail locations. It works fine ( with sieve etc. ). The user home folders are in /home/vmail/%d/%n and mailboxes are in /srv/mail/%d/%n . The permissions are fine and everything is working except in the following case : If a user does not have a home dir

Internal quota calculation error (redis), double mail delivery
Sometimes my redis connection times out, both for pop3, imap and lmtp. I have no idea why, when I do a "doveadm quota recalc -u" it works just fine? I'm thinking the connection is lost somehow and not retried? how to separate virtual delivery and authentication?
I have a "pure ldap" setting with postfix and dovecot. When using dovecot delivery, the recipient is checked via ldap. The same ldap query is used when authenticate. So, if I want to authenticate with the uid , I can't use a filter like uid=%u because the delivery will fail. I don't want to use %nor something else because I could use multiple e-mail addresses on a single

lmtp delivery auth error, but successful delivery
It is a test environment, so I do not have much data. I am testing with 'mail wegjd' seems to deliver ok every time. -----Original Message----- Subject: RE: lmtp delivery auth error, but successful delivery Can you let me know if you get lots of delivery failures? Dovecot, Postfix and Dovecot LDA (LMTP) delivery
Hi list, I am running a Debian Lenny machine with Postfix 2.5.5 and Dovecot 2.0.8. Up until now I ran Postfix with the Procmail delivery agent succesfully. The machine has only local users; I am not using virtual mailboxes. Due to obvious reasons I want to switch to Dovecot LDA delivery, through LMTP. I spend quite some time finding 'the' configuration for both Postfix and Dovecot,

disabling mail delivery for a user
How can I disable mail delivery for a user yet still allow access to their mailbox from another account which their mail is shared to? If I put them in a userdb which has "deny = yes" that just disables their ability to login, yes? And they would still have mail delivered. I want to disable their ability to login AND bounce all mail delivered to them, preferably solely through dovecot

Temporarily disable mail delivery when using Dovecot's LDA
Hi, How can I disable mail delivery to a user or a mailbox temporarily. Is there something in the lines of qmail where you set a sticky bit on the home directory and mail delivery is deferred? Thanks, Avinash.

mail delivery interrupts force-resync
Hi all, We have recently had some power failures have led to corrupt mdbox instances. Dovecot?s fsck appears to get caught in a loop when the recipient has a large amount of mail. In the example log output below, each ?rebuilding indexes? seems to be interrupted by a new IMAP connection. Later, when our folks realized the issue and blocked access to the mailbox, the index rebuild finished in

namespace delivery question
Hi list, I like to have public mailboxes in addition to other private in the same domain, and manage the public mailbox permissions through acls. For example: info at domain.com <- public, readable by user2 user1 at domain.com <- private user2 at domain.com <- private The mailboxes are virtual, authentication through pam (kerberos). The public mailbox doesn't have valid kerberos

Sendmail "Queued mail for delivery"
I see that mail sent from a remote computer never leaves the computer, the last entry in /var/log/maillog being "Queued mail for delivery". 1. What is likely to cause this message? I know I registered with my remote mail server with a different name to my name on the computer. Is that likely to be the cause of my problem? And if so, what is the solution? Or is there any other likely

how to run dovecot imap on separate server from postfix?
OK I got delivery from postfix to lmtp working , by changing from unix_listener to inet_listener . Reindl wrote "don't open the port for any other machine as the postfix server" I see that is important.. I assume that just a firewall setting? Or does the 'address' line in inet_listener lmtp have something to do with it? On Wed, Feb 18, 2015 at 12:37 PM,

Disable maildir indexing and dovecot-uidlist on LMTP/LDA delivery
Hello all, Is there a way to use LMTP (or LDA) so that maildir index and dovecot-uidlist are not updated? My setup is such that mail delivery sees user's maildir as write only. This setup works well when using postfix for mail delivery, but when I try to switch to dovecot LMTP the lmtp process wants to read the dovecot-uidlist and fails on insufficient privileges. Is there a way around this
