Why does dovecot tell Error: passwd-file(...)failed: No such file or directory?
My bad. Userdb does not support scheme keyvalue, just remove it.

eigenvalues of matrices of partial derivatives with ryacas
Hello,
I am trying to construct two matrices, F and V, composed of partial
derivatives and then find the eigenvalues of F*Inverse(V). I have the
following equations in ryacas notation:

Problem getting quota-warning script to function.
Hello,
I'm trying to implement quota enforcement in our mailservers, and it is
all working properly except that the quota warnings are not firing when
the quota levels are passed.? the server stops accepting email when the
quota is reached, and you can see tyhe quota usage through the email
client connected through, but as the quota passes the set levels the

userdb username changed
Hi!
I'm playing with a postfix + dovecot + mysql test setup, and noticed
something strange. It seems that despite the "username changed" line,
auth returns the original username:

May you please clarify that? Where should I omit the userdb_ prefix? Which of my attempts are you pointing at?
As stated, I omitted the userdb_ prefix when working with an LDAP attribute.

Imaptest stall
I am also testing rbox plugin ;) So I would like just the imaptest tool
to work. No one else ever run into this? I saw something similar on the
mailing list a long time ago.

This is my configuration:

base = CN=Person,CN=Schema,CN=Configuration,DC=company,DC=local
scope = subtree
user_attrs = \

I have configured the dovecot from sources based on the instructions in the

Tried to test the installation:

unknown users
Hi,
can anyone tell me where these "unknown users" come from.
As far as I see the fact, dovecot is asked by postfix to look for the
password of the recipient-user (why ever).

Hi!
It works when using LDAP.
I've duplicated the "username change" debug line, just to see that the
variables are really updated:

Ah. You probably need to change ldap userdb so that you add
userdb {
driver = ldap
? args = /etc/dovecot/dovecot-ldap.conf
result_success = continue-ok
}
so that the next one is processed.
you can use 'doveadm user test at onnet.ch' to verify that the attributes are read for this user, and with another username that they are not.

dovecot 2.1.15 hangs while connecting.
I am using Dovecot in two Server environments. My Legacy (5 years+
old) servers are running dovecot 1.1.20, and are responding as
expected. These servers are using an NFS based storage for the /home
directory structure, and are working beautifully. However, I need to
replace these inefficient servers, and get more current.
That brings me to the problem, where I am implementing Dovecot

Hmm. if you put it *after* the ldap userdb, it should not have prevented
users from logging in.
What happens if you do
userdb {
? driver = passwd-file
? args = ....
? skip = notfound
? result_failure = continue-ok
}
