You only had to look into Teatime's mismatched eyes to know one thing,
which was this: if Teatime wanted to find you he would not look
everywhere. He'd look in only one place, which would be the place where
you were hiding. --Hogfather

Virtual Mailboxes redux
Hi there!
I've had success using "doveadm mailbox list" to verify that my virtual mailboxes are showing up,
and using "doveadm search mailbox $VIRTUAL_MAILBOX" to print out which mails are in a folder.

Virtual question
?For each virtual directory you need to create a dovecot-virtual file. Its syntax is like:?
OK, where does this file get created?
Say I want the users to have a virtual mailbox that is messages received in the last month, does that file go into each user' s Maildir path?
It sounds like I have to create a virtual folder for each user, then any folders inside that folders, and then the config

Using virtual folders with younger and index files
Hi list,
I just encountered a problem while using dovecot's Virtual plugin with 2.3.0. I managed to solve the issue,
but I wanted to bring it to the attention of others on the list to see if there exists a better solution, if
I found a bug, or if it's just a matter of updating documentation.
I have a virtual folder to get the most recent two weeks of mails; it looks something like this:

Any clues on this? As far as I can tell from the documentation and the list this should work, but it is not.

Dovecot 2.3 - using doveadm as non-root?
Hi dovecot developers and users,
I recently upgraded my server running Arch Linux to dovecot 2.3.0, and I
noticed some of my cron jobs started issuing me error messages. These
cron jobs run as a non-root user associated with my mail account, and
they use doveadm to tidy things up (ex. purging the trash, moving
old mail in certain folders into the trash). The error message is:

You can also use
namespace virtual {?location=virtual:/etc/dovecot/virtual:INDEX=~/virtual/:CONTROL=~/virtual/....}
so you put the folder definitions under /etc and per-user indexes end up under user home.?---Aki TuomiDovecot oy

Virtual question
So.
Under /etc/dovecot/virtual
you create the virtual folder structure you want, and put the dovecot-virtual files under those folders.
such as
/etc/dovecot/virtual/month/dovecot-virtual
Then in dovecot.conf you put
namespace virtual {
location = virtual:/etc/dovecot/virtual:INDEX=~/virtual:CONTROL=~/virtual
# change these to match your setup
prefix=virtual/
separator=/
}
and then

VIRTUA TENNIS screen cutoff
Hi !
VIRTUA TENNIS works fine (very fine and better than Cedega) , except
sound (problem with initialising DirectXAudio. Error code : 0x88780078)
and the game screen don't fit the desktop or fullscreen resolution: his
parent window seems not be able to re-size itself.

per-user virtual mailboxes
Have given up on getting the global virtual config for now, and am trying to setup the virtual mailboxes for just my user account. Basically, it's behaving exactly as it did when I was trying to use a global config. This, and the lack of errors, is causing me to think that it is something odd in my install as opposed to a configuration issue (full doveconf -n at end)

Using virtual folders with younger and index files
Hello Rob,
Do you by chance have a virtual/All folder which holds all your
messages? If so, could I see that configuration?
Thanks.

GSM player or plugin for XMMS
Hello.
I can't find a gsm plugin for XMMS.
How do Unix, Linux, BSD users listen to gsm samples ?

Use of "&" kills rails -- redux
I see someone else mentioned this below, but the answer was just "use
&&", which isn''t what I''m looking for.
I''m using acts_as_ferret in my web app, but if the user inputs certain
symbols, like &, it kills his/her browser. I''m running everything
locally on OS X. I had to reboot OS X because the crash was so bad.
Is there a way to
