You can also use namespace virtual {?location=virtual:/etc/dovecot/virtual:INDEX=~/virtual/:CONTROL=~/virtual/....} so you put the folder definitions under /etc and per-user indexes end up under user home.?---Aki TuomiDovecot oy -------- Original message --------From: LuKreme <kremels at kreme.com> Date: 01/03/2018 20:40 (GMT+02:00) To: dovecot at dovecot.org Subject: Virtual question

Virtual question
So. Under /etc/dovecot/virtual you create the virtual folder structure you want, and put the dovecot-virtual files under those folders. such as /etc/dovecot/virtual/month/dovecot-virtual Then in dovecot.conf you put namespace virtual { location = virtual:/etc/dovecot/virtual:INDEX=~/virtual:CONTROL=~/virtual # change these to match your setup prefix=virtual/ separator=/ } and then

Virtual Mailboxes redux
I?ve created virtual mailboxes in dovecot, and they show up in various clients, but the folders contain no messages. (I will get an ?empty? folder icon named ?@virtual? and an empty folder icon named ?month? inside it. Is there a way I can verify what dovecot THINKS should be in the virtual folder via doveadm?

Dovecot Virtual Users with Sendmail
I'm trying to get Dovecot working with Virtual Users and Sendmail on OpenIndiana 151a7. OpenIndiana is the Open Source continuation of OpenSolaris after Oracle tried to kill it off a couple of years ago shortly after acquiring Sun Microsystems. I'm not sure if this is so much a Dovecot problem, as much of a Sendmail problem. I thought this would probably be a better list to start with,

When trying to sync my TV folder to a mirror drive, episodes with non-ASCII characters in them cannot be processed by rsync. Anything I can do about this? Virtual Mailboxes redux
Hi there! I've had success using "doveadm mailbox list" to verify that my virtual mailboxes are showing up, and using "doveadm search mailbox $VIRTUAL_MAILBOX" to print out which mails are in a folder. -Rob On Tue, 6 Mar 2018 11:40:13 -0700 "@lbutlr" <kremels at kreme.com> wrote: > I?ve created virtual mailboxes in dovecot, and they show up in >

Fixing Timestamps
I have a user with a lot of email (A LOT of email, probably over 500,000 emails). Recently, several thousand messages of his were lost, and I pulled them out of the backup archives (zip files containing each days emails in an mbox) that are created on his account and fed them into his procmail scripts and they were all processed just fine and ended up in the right directories. Except. The

auth: Warning: DNS lookup took 1.550 s
Thanks for your comments. I understand as DNS uses UDP that there could be some DNS queries which might get lost if the CPU or network is too busy but the thing is that this server is not so busy really. It has 2 cores with 4 GB of RAM and the CPU averages to 2% usage. The network averages to 1 Mbit/s traffic and there are around 600-700 processes running for 1100 mailboxes. Note here that this
