weird situation with pop3/imap proxy and postfix authentication
Hello dovecot mailing list, I have a server running postfix and dovecot. I havea configuration on dovecot that allows me to provide imap4/pop3 messages for local hosted users as well as for proxied users on other servers. Basically, i have a simple MySQL table (imapproxy) with two fields, 'domain' and 'host'. My password_query isa 'UNION' query, exactly like:

BUG: sieve does not set seen-Flag
Moving a message from one folder to another with thunderbird, gmail-app on android and horde webmail has always the same behaviour. The \Recent flag ist set and the \Seen-Flag is removed in the new folder. So it is not a problem of thunderbird. Unknown scheme SSHA256.HEX.b64
I'm getting a very strange error and I'm completely mystified by it. Thank you so much for taking a look! I recently migrated some users from another dovecot server to my own, and the previous admin had the passwords in their database using the SSHA256 scheme in HEX format. All the password hashes are in my database (MySQL) with a {SSHA256.HEX} prefix, and I thought at first that they

salted passwords
The idea of salted hash algorithms is to generate a different hash even if the same text is entered. That can be easily seen with dovecotpw: using NON-salted SHA256, same hash is generated for a given password [root at correio ~]# dovecotpw -s SHA256 -p 123 {SHA256}pmWkWSBCL51Bfkhn79xPuKBKHz//H6B+mY6G9/eieuM= [root at correio ~]# dovecotpw -s SHA256 -p 123

BUG: sieve does not set seen-Flag
What really strange is: There is a seen message 1544001025.M268344P5000.mymail,S=2804,W=2861:2,S Shown in Thunderbird as seen. Then i move this message to INBOX, and the logs say: Dec 05 10:22:23 mymail dovecot[24019]: imap(user.name)<5276><+eYG4kJ85DMuffon>: Debug: Mailbox INBOX: Mailbox opened because: UID move Dec 05 10:22:23 mymail dovecot[24019]:

BUG: sieve does not set seen-Flag
We've all shown the way it should work, and what DOES work for us. There appears to be <something> different about your setup. I've showed you my spam sieve filter that does set \Seen. I deliver my mail via dovecot LMTP to mbox formatted files. What's different in your setup? Those \Seen flags are visible in ALL the clients I use (Outlook, Outlook Android, Gmail Android,

SSHA256 scheme
Hi again, I`m a bit confused how to store a SSHA256 password in the database and I can`t find any information in the wiki. Do I have to store the SHA256 hash and the salt separately (what would the password_query be like in this way) or just the final SSHA256 hash? Regards Patrick

auth child abort - "Requested NTLM scheme, but we have only SSHA256"
Hi! I noticed these messages in my logs. It seems that the user checked the "encrypted password" in her outlook or something, and wants NTLM auth. I'm storing all the passwords as SSHA256, and when the user tries to auth, this happens: => dovecot.info auth: Info: password(<username>,<user_ip>): Requested NTLM scheme, but we have only SSHA256 auth: Debug:

Problem logging in during testing
Instructions at http://wiki2.dovecot.org/BasicConfiguration say the next thing to test after getting IMAP and Telnet working is to create a dummy user file with the following command: echo "$USER:{PLAIN}password:$UID:$GID::$HOME" > users And place it in /etc/dovecot and protect it appropriately. It was also edited to change the plain-text password from `password' to what it

Configuring LMTP/IMAP proxy
Hi, First, my version: [root at centos1 conf.d]# dovecot --version 2.2.15 [root at centos1 conf.d]# I have already configured dovecot that way (on one single VM, so everythinh is stored on the same machine) - A post fix server sending out to LMTP - LMTP is the dovecot LMTP server, configured with "lmtp-proxy= no", - LMTP checks the users receiving

passwd file for quota
Yes and No. It's confusing to me which is why I ask. Per my initial email my password source is PAM. It's the userdb I'm concerned about ... which dovecot is using /etc/passwd. So dovecot is getting user information from passwd file; password information from PAM. I need to add extra fields for qouta but can't add them to /etc/passwd so I have to create a passwd with the extra

%d ignored from auth-passwdfile.conf.ext configuration file
I try to configure dovecot with virtual users. I put my users file in folder /etc/dovecot/my_domain_name/users. My auth-passwdfile.conf.ext file looks like this: passdb { driver = passwd-file args = username_format=%n /etc/dovecot/%d/users } When I try to log in, I get this: dovecot: auth: Error: passwd-file(test,some.ip.addr.here,<rQT+ziijGE1tpoAB>): stat(/etc/dovecot//users) failed:
