postfix sasl -> haproxy -> dovecot auth
I don?t want to allow public network facing servers to be able to reach passwords database. And I want to segregate roles of the servers.
If I will setup dovecot locally I will still have to provide it access to database (eg. /etc/dovecot/dovecot-sql.conf.ext).

Recommended PHP 7 source for Centos 7
I know there's a couple third party repos offering PHP 7 for Centos. I
prefer not to add too much third party that I don't have to and PHP 7
has been mainstream for some time now, I thought maybe it would be in
EPEL by now.
What is the most recommended and stable way to get an up to date PHP on
Centos 7?

CAA records using PowerDNS from EPEL
PowerDNS supports CAA records beginning with version 4.0, but the pdns
package in EPEL for most recent centos versions is stuck at around
version 3.4 (3.4.11 is what I have).
Do I have no other choice but to manually compile and maintain my own
pdns installation? I prefer to avoid this but I need up-to-date
features.
Perhaps there is a PowerDNS specific work-around? Maybe the EPEL

Multi-dbox storage space
Hi, I originally picked mdbox because I had the impression from reading
about it on the mailing list that it was more performant and that it
would conserve disc space.
But lately i found mailboxes have nearly double the storage as reported.
I mean, IMAP QUOTA reports around 900MB for one account that has over
2GB when I inspect the mail location of the user using the linux command
`du`

Dovecot communication with sasl in dovecot source code
Hi all,
I'm reading dovecot source codes(2.0.13),and I need to know how dovecot
communicate with sasl?
I traced the source code from cmd_login function, and found out something
about sasl_callback.
but i never found where this function called and also I couldn't understand
how sasl inform the dovecot from authentication result.
I'll be thankful if someone could help me out.

postfix sasl -> haproxy -> dovecot auth
I will install cyrus-sasl and see how it goes.
Anyway, it would be nice to have same features (authentication agains imap) in dovecot.

postfix sasl -> haproxy -> dovecot auth
Can?t dovecot authenticate against imap?
What I need is to make smtp authentication balanced and keep everything in backend (private network)

Plugin charset_alias compile error: void function cannot return value
Hey Everyone,
We are getting a compile error for Dovecot 2.2.34 on Solaris 11.3
x86, using Solaris Studio 12.6 compiler, and it doesn't occur with
Dovecot 2.2.33.

How to install Banshee on CentOS 7?
on centos 7 I tried to install banshee from EPEL
yum install banshee
gotting this error:
Error: Package: banshee-2.6.2-11.el7.x86_64 (epel)
Requires: libgpod-sharp >= 0.8.2
You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest

How can I query the current pigeonhole version from a running instance
to verify it is what I expect?

Running Apache sites as separate users
I had a recent request to improve security on my web servers by having each
website use a different user to run the hosting service. So
example1.comhas it's own Apache instance running as apache1 and then
example2.com has its own instance of Apache as apache2. Is this even
possible or realistic? I understand the idea of how that would be secure,
much like creating a virtual machine to
