Using filter in an imapsieve script?
Hi Stephan yes the imap_sieve plugin is added to the mail_plugins for imap. Thanks for the hint with mail_debug. After enabling it I can see that the program seems to be called, so filter should not be the problem. But the result is that the message appears unencrypted in my sent folder > Apr 6 08:20:26 mbox2 dovecot: imap(tobster at brain-force.ch): Debug: imapsieve: mailbox Sent: APPEND

Kernel panic in dovecot-ee-lmtp on Debian 8
Hi list I just realized that that I don not receive all mails in my mailbox (running dovecot-ee 2.2.23.1-1 on Debian 8). On my frontend servers (running postfix) the queue fills up with mails that cannot be delivered via lmtp to my backend servers. The error message on the frontend is "lost connection with backend while sending data" When I checked the logs on the backend server I found

dovecot-pigeonhole running external script ends with signal 11
Hi Stephan currently the rpm is built based on 0.4.14 Should I try with 0.4.16? I will build it again this afternoon with the version you suggested and report back with the results. Maildir permissions on creation?
The main reason is that I don't want to provide backup user with unnecessary write permissions within maildirs and mail user within backup logs dir. I was talking about mail_user:mail_group 0750 on dirs and 0640 on files. (Or, possibly, mail_user:backup_group 2750 and 2640.) 26.12.2014, 11:19, "Tobi" <tobster at brain-force.ch>: > Whats the reason you do not want to use

mbox with sub-folders and messages?
Hi, Is it possible to have dovecot configured to use mbox format and yet have folders that contains sub-folders and messages? I'm thinking of a simple setup where any files directory with extension .sbd are presented to the IMAP client without the extension. So if you have a mbox file named BOX01 and a directory name BOX01.sdb would show has one on the client side (note: that is the way

1.1.7: quota problem, unable to delete mails when quota exceeded
Hi, When user exceeds it's quota then dovecot can't create it's files and it's showing zero mails :( This also means that user is unable to delete it's own mails. Sounds like kind-of bug, right? Failback mailboxes?
Hi! Have been using Fedora as my dovecot server for some time and am struggling with systemd at every update. Fedora insists on setting ProtectSystem=full in both dovecot.service and postfix.service at every update of the packages. This makes my mailstore which is in /usr/local/var/mail Read-only. And this makes the incoming emails delivered through dovecot-lda disappear into /dev/null until I

Question about "target is inferior" type of message
We're converting UW-IMAP users here to dovecot. Some of them have seen the error message issued when Thunderbird clients try to delete folders and I understand what's going on (from previous postings) that Dovecot doesn't support mbox subfolders within folders. What puzzles me is that many of these users already have folders within folders (I've found typically 2 levels of

dovecot-pigeonhole running external script ends with signal 11
There were some non-compatible changes in 2.2.27 that makes older versions of pigeonhole incompatible, when external programs are used. We moved the program-client code from pigeonhole to dovecot core and made some changes to it to facilitate other uses for it. dovecot-pigeonhole running external script ends with signal 11
Hi Stephan thanks for insisting on the pigeonhole version. That seems to be the reason. With 0.4.16 I built the rpms again and after yum install on my mailbox servers the script "terminated normally" Just one thing that does not go in my brain so far: in 1 out of maybe 20 cases the script worked with 0.4.14 without an error. But thats not important as with 0.4.16 it works in 100% of

Maildir permissions on creation?
Yes, and it is not my use case, sadly. ACLs are meant for imap, not filesystem access and mail_access_groups is also useless for some reason. It just does not change anything. Probably because I don't use mail_location and variables when I provide path for home. (It's stored as is in a database on mailbox creation.) 26.12.2014, 12:07, "Tobi" <tobster at brain-force.ch>:
