General IMAP question
Software is Centos7, Dovecot 2.2.10
>Use that single mailbox with IMAP, others stay to POP
Thanks, I considered that and looked up the ways to restrict IMAP access. But:
How will the IMAP account behave with the current mail_location setting below?
mail_location = mbox:~/mail:INBOX=/var/mail/%u
That is, where will the IMAP account's mail "go"? Right now it goes to

Safely updating to 4.4 via yum (chicken)
Hi guys:
I saw the pelthora of threads where people had trouble moving to 4.4. So
I'm chicken now and I was trying to wait for the dust to settle, I suppose
it has and its been long enough I'm nervous about not upgrading. I need to
do a a production server that is located in a data center far away so even
more than normal I want a smooth upgrade.
Can someone tell the what the

Calling dovecot-lda from within Antispam pipe script (bash) seems to have no effect
Hello,
I'm attempting to configure the Dovecot Antispam plug-in on Ubuntu 12.04
LTS with Dovecot 2.0.19.
Everything seems to be in order with one considerable exception: when my
pipe script (a simple Bash shell script) calls the dovecot-lda
executable, absolutely nothing seems to result.
If I copy/paste the exact same command into the terminal, the mail is
delivered to the target mailbox,

Linux local user problem when security = ADS
Hi, folks!
I have two RHEL5 Linux machines, both successfuly joined to a Windows 2008
Server AD domain. I can see AD users, groups, checking trusts, etc.
My problem is that when I try to mount a share from one Linux machine to the
other using a local user, I receive the message "mount error 13 = Permission
denied".
If I add the user with same name/password to the Windows AD domain, then

Indexing Mail faster
Hey Joseph
Thanks. Strace seems like a very useful tool
Only problem is that I dont think it is maintained on ubuntu.
Tried to run:-
apt-get install strace but could not download it.
Might need to download and build it. Do you know any other way of getting
it?
Thanks

Certificate cache on iOS with sending mail
I deleted the certificate already, but I think it only uses that for imap/dovecot. I don't think it actually stores one for smtps (or am I not talking sense here).
