Safely updating to 4.4 via yum (chicken)

Linux local user problem when security = ADS

My server is a limited space mailserver set up to filter spam. Most of it's mail is passed on ot an exchange server so it is not stored locally. I have a handful of pop accounts that are stored locally. For years I've used mbox type mailboxes that I'm familiar with and can access on the server when needed using the old mailx program. vsftp vs shell logins
I need to be able to allow specific system accounts to ftp to a box. As far as I can tell I have to give them a shell in /etc/passwd (i.e. /bin/bash) in order for their ftp login to work. I do *not* however want them to be able to log into a shell or ssh session. I cannot restrict by IP. What's the best way to accomplish this? Thanks, Scott

Domain Trust and smbclient error.
I am trying to get a W2K server to trust a samba 3.0 server. I followed the directions in the InterdomainTrusts.html file and receive an error that the domain is not found when trying to trust it. my samba server is configured to use pam to authenticate. can't smbmount a Windows share

count sequence of integers
Hi, I would like to be able to count a sequence of numbers. For example, given a vector of the following integers (1,1,1,2,2,2,2,3,3,3,3,3,3,1,1,1,1, 3,3) the function would return (3, 4, 6, 4,2) Does anyone have any cool ideas to solve this? Extremely custom mailbox locations
I'm in the position where I'd like to offer IMAP access to a collection of email accounts which are stored in a very odd manner. Files are stored as: /blah/$dd-$mm-$yy/$domain/1234/1234 For example: /reject/12-3-2009/cvsrepository.org/35199/35199639 There is a single file for each mail, which I guess technically probably counts as an mbox folder, but only just.
