migrating/cloning 2.2 > 2.3?
I have 2.2 installation on Centos 7, and, I'm trying to setup a new
server, and, 'clone' existing setup: Dovecot/Postfix/Mysql
on new Centos 7 installed from RPM 2.3.4.1 (3c0b8769e)
I then copied/overwrote from old to new /etc/dovecot/*.conf (but not
conf.d files), created self certs in place of old server certs
and, started Dovecot
is that totally dumb, and, how should I do this,

I'm trying to migrate from Centos 6/dovecot 2.1.17/mysql to new server on

user data transfer when migrating to new server
I;m setting up new server, what are the options for transferring user's
mail ?
I've tried imapsync, that seems to work well, but, what options do I have
for doing accounts or domains where I don't know user's password ?
last time I've done, some users had lengthy period of re downloading 'old'
mails from new server, is there a way to overcome this ?
thanks, V

Whatever you use, *don't* use UW-IMAP's mailutil unless you got lots
of time to kill. It is dreadfully slow -- I used it to export some of
my users' mailboxes to Gmail or other remote mail servers, and I could
almost cut&paste the messages faster.

fail2ban setup centos 7 not picking auth fail?
I use SSHGuard on well ssh (doh!), but supposedly you can use it for postfix and dovecot also. I can tell you it is well supported. I am on Centos 7 using firewalld.

ot: fail2ban dovecot setup
Copy dovecot-pop3imap.conf to dovecot-pop3imap.local.? Edit
dovecot-pop3imap.local and add to the failregex:
dovecot:.+auth failed.+rip=<HOST>
Then run:
fail2ban-regex /var/log/dovecot.log /etc/fail2ban/filter.d/dovecot-pop3imap.local
and see if you get any matches.
