Question about difftime()
Dear R experts,
I have a question about the result of difftime() function: Does it
take into account the different number of days in each month. In my
example, I have the following:
> firstDay
[1] "2010-02-20"
> lastDay
[1] "2010-05-20 16:00:00"
> difftime(lastDay,firstDay,units='days')
Time difference of 89.625 days

Anyone care for a braindump?
I have this problem with records that have to be alligned on end- and
startdate. I came up with the following. but am not convinced that this
is the best way to tackle this problem. Anyone care for a braindump?
def head_to_tail
# Remove days that have startdate >= self.startdate AND enddate <=
self.enddate

converting numbers in "YYYYMM" format to last calendar day and last exchange trading day of the month
I have a vector that contains month and year in the format YYYYMM (e.g.“200701”, “200702”)
I wish to do to things:
1. I need to convert to a date that is the last calendar day of each month.
2. I need to convert this to a date that is the last U.S. stock-exchange trading day of each month.
Any advice is appreciated,

duplicating records
Dear friends,
I need to fill in (duplicate the whole record) the missing days with the
same record values as long as AE is the same value (i.e. "1"), once AE
value changes, the process of duplication should proceed with the new AE
value till it changes again. e.g. I need to fill in records: day 18-day
44, all the records are carried with the new AE value of "0".

How to switch from NT to Samba transparently?
Hi,
I want to switch from our Windows NT server
( which works as our PDC ) to Linux - Samba.
Could you advice a step-by-step guide about
this process, or is that possible, at all?
Can I use Samba as a BDC, convert the user
DB and than promote it to PDC?
Thanks in advance!

ASUS WL-100W PCMCIA Wireless NIC
Hi everyone,
Any chance I can get the card[1] in $subj to work under CentOS 5.1 ?
The only thing I get in dmesg when inserting/removing the card, are
messages from pccard:
--- dmesg ---
pccard: CardBus card inserted into slot 0
pccard: card ejected from slot 0
--- end ---
When inserting, no new network interface becomes available, so I assume
it doesn't recognize it. Any way I can get it to

Courier migration to dovecot
Hi,
I'm almost ready to migrate Courier to Dovecot 2.2.31 but I have one
question about home and mail directory.
It's good idea to have same directory form home and mail ?
Which scenerio will be better and why ?
For example:
A)
Home: /home/doamin/user1
Mail: /home/doamin/user1
B)
Home: /home/doamin/user1/home
Mail: /home/doamin/user1
C)
Home: /home/doamin/user1/

dovecot: config: Error: BUG: Config client connection sent too much data
Hello,
Today I started noticing a very odd Dovecot error in the mail logs
across 2 replicated Dovecot hosts via dsync. I have searched the Dovecot
archives, Google, back tracked, downgraded Dovecot to earlier versions
from earlier this year and ruled everything out I could think of to no
avail. There really are not any helpful reports with what I am
specifically seeing. The strange thing is only

Dovecot 2.2.31 Incorrect Search
Hi.
I have installed dovecot 2.2.31 and fts plugin with Apache Solr 6.6.1.
I have found that imap search is not correct in my dovecot. For example, I
want to find email from user s.chistiakov at example.com. I run IMAP command
"SEARCH FROM s.chi" and result is null. But if I run IMAP command "SEARCH
FROM s.chistiakov" I get list of emails from this user. Why does this
happen
