failed to store into mailbox 'INBOX/Junk': Permission denied
I add a clarification: Now that I've commented out sieve Junk/Trash on "/etc/dovecot/conf.d/15-mailboxes.conf" > mailbox Junk > { special_use = \Junk > } > mailbox Trash > { special_use = \Trash > } remains a single account with permission issues, only one with write permissions controlled by the ACL plugin: > plugin { > acl =

failed to store into mailbox 'INBOX/Junk': Permission denied
Hello to everyone, On Debian Jessie (no SElinux) and "dovecot-sieve 1:2.2.13-12~deb8u1" I've changed the sieve (sieve_after) Junk and Trash path, from: "INBOX.Junk" to "INBOX/Junk" compiled it: sievec /etc/dovecot/sieve-after/spam-to-folder.sieve but now if i look into mail.err log, found this: Jul 24 07:22:01 server dovecot: lmtp(6823, info at

ACL hide folders
After updating from 2.2.22 to 2.2.33 rsp 2.3.8 my ACLs went bust. Below line in the global acl file hides all folders except INBOX for all users > * group=ALL Next reenable certain folders, eg: > Sent group=ALL lrwsi This made anyone see "Sent" in 2.2.22, but no longer so in 2.2.33 Any ideas how to have it like before? -- peter

ACL and virtual user
Hi friends, I would like to remove write rights for a specific virtual user/email address. I've read the wiki "https://wiki2.dovecot.org/ACL" but there is nothing about it. So I started reading and rereading some old ML, like this: https://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2006-June/013683.html where they talk about something like that but I would like to implement current

Case-sensitive INBOX or client issue?
I am using dovecot as an IMAP server for a Cisco product (Cisco Agent Desktop by Calabrio) and noticed some odd behavior when trying to access emails. The mail is delivered to the main INBOX, then a Cisco server moves it to a directory within the INBOX based on the queue it is meant for. Here is the directory structure of the Maildir: Maildir/INBOX Maildir/INBOX/tmp Maildir/INBOX/63

need help with public namespaces
Hello, I need some guidance with setting up a public namespace with per-user \Seen flags. What I want to do is that a group of users access the public namespaces and if user A reads a message, user B should still see it as new until he reads it himself. This is not happening now, and I can't figure out why. Here's the config: # 1.2.9: /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf # OS: Linux

Dovecot dsync not replicating ".dovecot.sieve -> .sieve/managesieve.sieve" / setactive
Hello, I've ran into problem with Dovecot and dsync replication. Everything works perfectly, including replication of sieve scripts, except fact that if user activates the 'managesieve' ruleset (I'm using currently Roundcubemail) on "mail1" host, it wouldn't be activated on "mail2" host, by creating symlink ".dovecot.sieve ->

dsync not replicating ".dovecot.sieve -> .sieve/managesieve.sieve"
Hi, Currently using dovecot 2.3.2.1 and pigeonhole 0.5.2 on two identical hosts. I recently noticed ".dovecot.sieve" and ".sieve/managesieve.sieve" are not replicating from one host to the other in either direction. Mail is having no trouble replicating on both hosts with dsync, it is only sieve files that are not replicating for unclear reasons. # doveconf -n host 1:

maildir++ specification compliance.
Hi folks. I was doing some testing this morning and realized Dovecot RC2 isn't fully compliant with the maildir++ specification. Most notably, it appears that Dovecot isn't creating a "maildirfolder" file (0 byte length) in folders it creates. >From http://www.inter7.com/courierimap/README.maildirquota.html "Within each subdirectory there's an empty file,

convert plugin created maildirfolder file in root maildir directory
I've noticed that if a user's maildir gets created by deliver or pop/imap without the convert plugin running, the maildir structure is fine (no maildirfolder file). But, if a user gets converted, there is a maildirfolder file in the user's base maildir directory. As far as I can tell, that doesn't cause any problems, but I just wanted to mention it. I've looked at the code

maildirfolder is created world-writeable
If I create a new folder using a mail client (eg. kmail/OE), the maildirfolder file is created world-writable. I assume that this is a security risk and should be -rw-------. eg. - create folder "Foo" in mail client ~ $ ls -la .maildir/.Foo/ total 20 drwx------ 5 robert users 4096 2009-01-21 19:56 . drwx------ 43 robert users 4096 2009-01-21 19:56 .. drwx------ 2 robert users 4096
