Global ACL configuration problems: mailboxes not visible, set ACLs not honoured
Hi list, I am having trouble getting global ACLs to work correctly. This is, I assume, an issue separate from the one I reported a few days ago [1], where the imap process crashes when creating subfolders of folders with an ACL set. As you can see from my 'dovecot -n' output below I have three namespaces; two private ("Backup" and the default, empty one) and one public

New global ACL mailbox pattern feature in HG
Hi, I played around with changeset 9376bf098692 a bit. Right now I'm unsure how to describe a namespace using this feature. Using something like 'Public/*" doesn't seem to work while 'Public*" does, but would also potentially alter non-related mailboxes elsewhere: $ cat global-acl INBOX owner lrwstiekxap Public* group=PublicMailboxAdmins lrwsik Regards Thomas

Shared mailbox ACL
Hi everyone, I am having some trouble with shared folders in trying to replicate how we use them with a Cyrus backend. The auth database is Samba4 active directory, so I am using an LDAP lookup to authenticate and forcing the UID and GID to be all the same. I have a post-login script that sets the group ACL, and this seems to be working fine. /mnt/mail is an NFS mount to a FreeNAS machine, and

ACL not copied to new mailboxes
Hi, I had some trouble with ACLs not being copied to new child mailboxes in dovecot 2.2.4. It doesn't matter whether it's a private, shared or public mailbox I create the folder in, the ACLs just seems to be ignored. Anyway, I debugged the executable and came up with the attached patch. Since I'm not a developer, I'm not 100% sure about this but it works for me now. Regards,

File permissions used for automatically created mailbox
Hi, I'm running Dovecot 2.1.12 on FreeBSD (quite successfully so, thanks for this nice piece of software!). One thing which is slightly annoying though is that automatically created mailboxes (I have lda_mailbox_autocreate set) don't have the file permissions I'd like them to have. I'm using a vmail-based system, i.e. all mail is owned by vmail:vmail; another member of the

Problems with dsync and global acls

Mailbox can't be created
Having said that, /home/vmail should be owned by vmail, however dovecot-lda should have write access so 700 is a bad idea. Shared mailboxes - Can't open mailbox shared-boxes/user/name.lastname: Character not allowed in mailbox name: '.'
Hi, I am trying to make shared folders work on my server (Ubuntu 18.04, Dovecot 1:2.2.33.2-1ubuntu4.1). Mails are on Maildir++ local filesystem with '.' as layout separator and ALL 100+ users logins fits a template name.lastname, with a dot in the middle. I set up listescape but no luck. When I test with doveadm: root at mail:/etc/dovecot/conf.d# doveadm acl debug -u marcio.merlone
