Shouldn't the port be 587 here?
My config file looks like:
service submission-login {
? inet_listener submission {
??? #port = 587
? }
}
The # comment must also mean something..

While auditing my logs after an account was compromised, I see a number
of entries like:
Jun 23 11:32:18 bubba dovecot: auth:
ldap("one-of-my-accounts",127.0.0.1): invalid credentials
I'm trying to figure out where this login attempt is coming from. I do
run ASSP (an SMTP proxy) on this server, as well as Postfix - but I
wouldn't think there'd be any communication with

Submission proxy warning connecting to Exim
Hello,
When connecting to Exim 4.94, dovecot submission logs this warning:
dovecot[25235]: submission(alec)<25347><QNydV8+t+oMKAgAF>: Warning: smtp-client: conn localhost:25 ([::1]:25) [1]: Received invalid EHLO response line: Unexpected character in EHLO keyword
Looks like it doesn't like the underscore in "X_PIPE_CONNECT", since
it's neither "isalnum"

Sendmail not presenting AUTH option after EHLO
Hello folks,
I have a CentOS 6.4 installation running Sendmail, and after some serious hair tear stare and compare I'm a bit stumped. When I connect to the server either with telnet or SSL, sendmail is not presenting the AUTH capability after an EHLO. Everything looks like it should be working, but no amount of tweaking is getting the AUTH capability advertised (and it doesn't work if

sendmail deferred
Hi all,
I having a problem with my sendmail server running on centos 5.7 x64.
Sometimes when we send an email to microsoft exchange servers, sendmail
says deferred or timeout. I do not know what is happening. Here is some
details;
[root at avgw ~]# sendmail -v -qRxxx at xxx.gov.qa
Running /var/spool/mqueue/q0B7caw9023076 (sequence 1 of 2)

Submission service and SMTP AUTH capability
Hi Christian, first of all I appreciate your quick answer.
You are correct, if I "openssl -starttls smtp -connect <host>:<port>" I
notice the AUTH capability is published, so that explains why the
clients that I configure with STARTTLS are able to find out the AUTH
mechanisms and authenticate correctly.
I also found out that the AUTH is shown before entering STARTTLS if

Bug#255560: logcheck-database: More Postfix rules
Package: logcheck-database
Version: 1.2.22a
Severity: normal
Thanks to the upgrade to Postfix 2.1 and deploying a newer logcheck
ruleset on a busier server I've found a bunch more rules for Postfix.
I've attached new rules files and patches are inline.
The following patch is for violations.ignore.d:

dsync connection issue
I'm trying to move from my exising server to a new site. In preparation
for this I've set up the new server as per the first attachment.
I've added additional (temporary) setting to the new site as per these
instructions
https://wiki2.dovecot.org/Migration/Dsync
but when I try to do a backup with the following command from the old to
the new site
sudo doveadm -D -o
