Resending - any ideas why I might get "IMAP session state is inconsistent" whenever emtyping the trash in Thunderbird? Sorry, just one more thing I've just noticed now from looking at the IMAP session IDs: Dovecot seems to map the steps as outlined below to four different IMAP session IDs all related to the exact same Thunderbird client instance: * <yH0lKWRRpNHAqOh5> session for the folder copy of folder "Dilbert" with 317 messages * <VcMlLWRRqNHAqOh5> session for the deletion

That log didn't do much help, can you try enabling mail_debug=yes for a moment and see if it gives any more insight? Yes, that would help too. Hello Aki, please find attached the debug log from another incident, this time with IMAP session ID (<yH0lKWRRpNHAqOh5>) in the logs and with "mail_debug=yes" in dovecot.conf. I can consistently reproduce the "inconsistent state" error message by the following steps from the most recent Thunderbird version (52.1.1, on 64-bit Linux Ubuntu 16.04.02 LTS): * copy a

Hello again, Jeremy and other Samba experts, I'm sorry to be such a pain in your neck(s), but I still need your help in looking for help trying to find out why SMB2/3.1.1 in Samba 4.6.5 performs so much worse than SMB/1.5 in Samba 3.6.15 in scenarios with a huge number of small files. As requested by Jeremy, I have done wireshark "pcapng" captures of the four scenarios as

"@LIBICU_CFLAGS@: No such file or directory" during libtool command for lib-fts (cross compile)
Hello, I am a complete newbie to dovecot, but do have reasonable experience in compiling Unix/Linux software. I am currently trying to do a cross-compile of dovecot-2.29.1 to be used on my home office Thecus NAS (host: Thecus kernel 2.6.33 on 32-bit Intel Atom: "i686-nptl-linux-gnu"; my build machine has Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS) "from ground up", i.e. I need to build and

Huge number of small files performance regression from 3.5.16 to 4.6.5 with identical smb.conf
Hello Samba experts, I have just successfully replaced the old default Thecus Samba version 3.5.16 on my Thecus NAS (32-bit Intel Atom, 3 GB RAM, i686 Thecus kernel 2.6.33) by a current Samba 4.6.5 build that I have cross-compiled myself from scratch. Note that so far, I am using the unchanged (i.e. exactly identical) old 3.5.16 smb.conf file for 4.6.5. Everything seems to work fine in

Lots of RPC-related compile errors (conflicting types, too many arguments, ...) trying to update Samba from 3.5 to 4.6
Hello Samba experts, due to the "SambaCry" issue (CVE-2017-7494), I am trying to update the Samba server installation on my Thecus NAS (dating back to 2011) from version 3.5.16 to the current 4.6.4. So far, I have successfully * created a cross-compiling toolchain for the NAS (i686-nptl-linux-gnu) based on gcc-5.2 * compiled Python and Samba library dependencies for my

Hello Aki, sorry, but I am still a newbie to Dovecot: Hmm - I don't seem to have IMAP session IDs in every line of my dovecot-info.log. that could be used to extract IMAP session-related info. I assume that I have to set up logging in a specific way to add and then find the IMAP session ID in my logs. Could you please point me to the docs about how to configure this for the future? What
