Dovecot/Sieve shortcuts?
Thanks! This is super-interesting.
As I try to set up include, I get failures which may indicate a need
for more coffee, but in /etc/dovecot/cond.f/90-sieve.conf I have:
plugin {
# Directory for :personal include scripts. The default is to use
home directory.
sieve_dir = %h/.sieve
# Directory for :global include scripts (not to be confused with

SSL error
I run dovecot + postfix as my email server. Everything is working as
expected, but I see an error in the dovecot logs:
lmtp(7331): Error: SSL context initialization failed, disabling SSL:
ENGINE_init(dynamic) failed
Dovecot is running and emails are OK. I wonder why this error and how I can
fix it? I see it is a SSL issue but no idea in which direction to look.
Thank you for help

Courier migration to dovecot
Hi,
I'm almost ready to migrate Courier to Dovecot 2.2.31 but I have one
question about home and mail directory.
It's good idea to have same directory form home and mail ?
Which scenerio will be better and why ?
For example:
A)
Home: /home/doamin/user1
Mail: /home/doamin/user1
B)
Home: /home/doamin/user1/home
Mail: /home/doamin/user1
C)
Home: /home/doamin/user1/
Mail:

[Sieve] Unable to fileinto subfolders
Hello again list!
I am configuring a server running Dovecot 2.2.15 (Pigeonhole 0.4.6), and
I am having an issue with Sieve scripts where I cannot sort messages
into a subfolder of a mailbox. An email which is matched by the
following script:
require "fileinto";
if header :contains "Subject" "[SORT ME]" { fileinto "INBOX.Sorted"; }
Yields the following

Migrating to sieve
Hi,
As I migrate to sieve, I would like to carry over the logic I had in
procmail rules, which let me take all mail where I'd never sent email
to that address into a final spam catchall, which I called
"neversent."
I see that sieve can't run external programs, and I wonder if that
means I'm SOL, or is there an alternate approach that does roughly the
same thing?
(I

backing up email / saving maildir on external hard drives
Dear Christian,
Thanks for your feedback.
The HDD will not accept larger than 4GB (as its in FAT format). Its a new
external HDD. Thinking of the best format(that would work with Mac , Win
and Linux) .seems like a challenge.
What's your view on NTFS? And why not exFAT?
Thanks
Kevin

Hi,
I've just switch from procmail to pigeonhole, and I'm seeing an issue
(twice in six hours).
I have spamassisn running via postfix milter, and dropping off via main.cf
"mailbox_transport = lmtp:unix:/var/lib/imap/socket/lmtp"
The issue is that I get a sequence of these log messages:

backing up email / saving maildir on external hard drives
Hello,
Yesterday I tried to back up a 40GB maildir .
I tried to move the maildir from home to external HDD but failed. Decided
then to compress it(which took several hours). Now changing the disk format
from FAT to exFAT to allow the transfer for the large compressed file.
How does one back up emails on a external drive?
Some advice would be greatly appreciated.
