Sieve pipe extension - can it retur something?
I have a question about sieve pipe: can it return something to further processing? For example in procmail I can do: --8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8--- :0 VIRUS=`$CLAMSCAN --mbox --disable-summary --stdout -` --8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8--- and then test VIRUS variable. Maybe I missing something, when read

Migrating to sieve
Hi, As I migrate to sieve, I would like to carry over the logic I had in procmail rules, which let me take all mail where I'd never sent email to that address into a final spam catchall, which I called "neversent." I see that sieve can't run external programs, and I wonder if that means I'm SOL, or is there an alternate approach that does roughly the same thing? (I

Sieve to strip html from multipart messages
Is is possible (I?m sure it is, so how) to strip multipart messages that are HTML and text of the HTML portion and leave the bare text message without also stripping other parts (like images or attached files). Or also to take messages that are only HTML and strip the HTML and replace it with a plain text version? I used to do this a long time ago with procmail and lynx, but it was never

Sieve to process list mail based on list-ID
Before I spend a lot of time trying to replicate a procmail script that automatically sorts list mail into mailboxes based on the List-ID header (and possibly some other data) I thought I'd check if someone had already done this for sieve. Basically, what I do now in procmail is 1. Get the listname from the List-ID header (or List-post/List-owner if no ID) 2. check against a list of

sieve_extprograms - double linebreaks at filtering
Hello List, i have a problem when using sieve-plugin sieve_extprograms. I use dovecot 2.2.18 and bundled pigeonhole 0.4.6 (Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS) i have enabled sieve_extprograms and vnd.dovecot.filter to send mail to user-defined script and get changed content back. My script previously was used with procmail and is working fine. Using same script with vnd.dovecot.filter leads to odd behavior. I

procmail, and the care and feeding of mailing list content received
Some threads just go on too long. Personally I think a troll has hijacked the main centos list again and is inducing food fight behaviours while that troll perfectly 'innocently' asserting that it is just respoding to all email. see: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4216011961522818645 for a discussion of the problem of 'capture' in FOSS projects. But if one loses

Maildir, procmail, and locks
I'm using procmail as the local delivery agent for Maildir style mailboxes. I discovered that I was able to send mail to other users but was unable to send mail to myself. Procmail to Sieve translation
Hello, I'm trying to move from procmail to dovecot sieve. I found the translation script at http://www.dovecot.org/tools/procmail2sieve.pl It works well except the following use cases: * ^From:.*myemail at mydomain.com.* | formail -I"X-Priority: 2 (high)" -I"X-mydomain-com-seen: yes" | $SENDMAIL -oi \ myemail at mydomain2.com \ myemail at mydomain3.com :0c *

Random procmail filter failures.
Hi all, I'm seeing a random issue with my procmail filters (only on email from this list) where once every so often, it will fail to filter a message. I am sorting by the to/cc email address, and this rule works on 99.9% of posts, however every now and again, I see something like this happen: From centos-bounces at centos.org Sat Jan 5 01:57:28 2008 Subject: Re: [CentOS]

OT: procmail recipe question
I'm trying to use procmail and I'm having trouble getting it to set some headers. I have one mailing list that sets ?Newsgroups: in the header and I want to remove it. I have the following test recipe: :0 * ^Subject:.*\<testing * ^(Mime-Version:|Content-) | formail -IMime-Version: -IContent- If I understand it correctly, it should remove the Mime-Verion and Content headers. Getting started with sieve and conversion from procmail
Hi, I have a fedora15 system with dovecot-v2.0.15, dovecot-pigeonhole and and amavisd-new and would like to implement it on my system using postfix. I've read the basic wiki documentation, but I really can't figure out the proper starting point in my case. I've enabled "protocol lda" in 15-lda.conf and added "sieve" to the list of mail_plugins. I'm trying to

problems with postfix->procmail->deliver
Hi all. I'm relatively new to Dovecot, but I really like what I'm seeing so far. I have one problem that I was hoping you could help me with though. I use Postfix for my mail server, then pass that on to procmail for filtering, and finally to deliver to put the mail in the appropriate Maildir folder. However, this isn't working. Postfix passes the mail to procmail correctly, but

Procmail/Formail problem on 6.3
Hi! In the process of making mysystem work again, having just done a reinstall of 6.3 x86_64. I have a considerable collection of procmail recipes for filtering mail in various ways, and since the upgrade none of 'em is working. procmail passes every mail thru spambayes, which gives back a rating on spamminess. this happens, so it's not as if procmail is simply punting. that is

procmail as a content_filter with dovecot
I am using Mac OS X Server. OS X Server uses postfix with dovecot set as mail_transport. I want to add procmail to the mix. I cannot use the (typical) mailbox_command = procmail -a "$EXTENSION" because mailbox_transport = dovecot overrides any mailbox_command parameter and it is NOT Possible to change, remove, or otherwise vary the mailbox_transport on OS X server. Centos 6.6 procmail trouble
I have a 6.5 machine that had everything set up and working correctly (fetchmail, sendmail w/ starttls, procmail, spamassassin) but the MB cratered. I bought a new machine, and installed Centos 6.6 and all is not well. I used the config from the previous incarnation (via backups) for fetchmail (works fine), sendmail (works fine for sending via relay and tls), but procmail now refuses to pick up

Dovecot deliver and procmail
Hi, I have site w. around 7000 users, most of which have some procmail rules (theres even .procmailrc in /etc/skel with rule to put spam into spam folder). Afaik dovecot's deliver doesnt understand procmail rules, so i'd like to ask if its possible to configure procmail so it saves mail using deliver, without modifying users .procmailrc Thanks for any pointers, Vaclav Hula
