Hi All, I downloaded: http://mirror.centos.org/altarch/7/isos/armhfp/ for the PI3 This article says the PI3 runs X. http://news.softpedia.com/news/centos-7-linux-officially-released-for-raspberry-pi-2-banana-pi-and-cubietruck-497891.shtml When I groupinstall Gnome desktop and reboot, then run startx I get an error about no screens found. [cfe-dev] Fwd: Raising CMake minimum version to 3.4.3
cmake is a big dependency, but it doesn't seem to have many dependencies itself. They say it's just a C++ compiler and a make (not necessarily gnu). Probably there are one or two more than that :-) A shell, for a start; git or tar/gzip etc. The current *nix source tarball is 6.4 MB gzipped. Just for fun I grabbed it and tried building on four machines: - 3.4 GHz i7 3770 with Ubuntu

Raspberry PI3 - CentOS armv7hl gnome desktop
Maybe there is a better place to post this message but as my question was still CentOS related thought I would start here. Please advise if there is a better forum of which to ask this question. I am playing around with making a "desktop" workstation out of a Raspberry PI3. I have had no problems installing the OS and pretty much have everything working except a Gnome desktop. I

pop3 retr error
Hello, I'm getting the following error while Mozilla Mail is downloading >4000 emails: The RETR command did not succeed. Error retrieving message. Mail server xxx responded: Message is deleted. So what's the error? Can't I retrieve a message, that has been marked as deleted before? If the Mesage-ID wouldn't exist, the error message would be different. I don't know

retr errors
My ISP uses Dovecot and I have had an ongoing problem for a while using several email clients. Sometimes the response to a retr request is mal-formed. The expected response "+OK nnn octets" is not returned. The response looks like it started somewhere in the message headers. Sometimes a retry can clear the problem but I usually need to delete the first message via a putty session.

Speexdsp --enable-neon doesn't compile on 64bit
Complains about missing Int16 functionality. So for 64bit on Arm you have to compile without –enable-neon and that has a huge effect on the AEC functionality. The Pi3 with neon is just struggling with the AEC routines as its audibly better on a Pi4 but its not the garble that a Pi0 produces. Without the neon on the Pi3 the 1.2 – 1.85 perf boost of neon with FFT is lost and it really effects AEC

pop3 retr responses too large lines - Fails with current python's poplib
Since December 2014, clients using the Python poplib library (getmail in my case) started to limit the line length of RETR and other command responses sent from the server to 2048 bytes: See https://bugs.python.org/issue16041 (Included at least in Python-2.7.9) Dovecot doesn't have line split in the POP3 module, so Python fails to retrieve messages with long lines. RFC 1939 says: "

Endogenous variables in ordinal logistic (or probit) regression
A student brought this question to me and I can't find any articles or examples that are directly on point. Suppose there are 2 ordinal logistic regression models, and one wants to set them into a simultaneous equation framework. Y1 might be a 4 category scale about how much the respondent likes the American Flag and Y2 might be how much the respondent likes the Republican Party in America.
