Bug Report: %% variables not expanded properly with shared namespace using . as separator
I think this is a bug.
I'd expect that location %% variables are translated the same way %
variables are interpreted, but apparently this isn't the case.
virtual folders work fine, but my shared folders fail because of the .
in the domain name.
What I get is the following:
# doveadm acl debug -u user1 at domain1.com.au shared.user2 at domain2.com.au
doveadm(user1 at domain1.com.au):

shared mailbox - namespace
Hi all,
this is my last try to get help before giving up. I red the dovecot-wiki
several times, but it doesn?t work.
I don?t know what?s wrong. If I open thunderbird I see the folder
"public" but I cannot subscribe it.
I have dovecot 1.0.10. Yes it?s a little bit old but it is the latest
version under debian packages.
Please see my configuration below.

Too stupid for sieve (former maildrop user)
Hello,
I just migrated from Postfix/Courier/Maildrop to
Postfix/Dovecot/Deliver/Sieve and don't unterstand the right syntax
for sieve :(
I searched and found many small examples and many links to the RFC,
but nothing was usefull for me (or i didn't unterstand it)
I installed the latest Dovecot-Sieve (hg).
Examples from my maildrop config:
# Filter FROM
if($E =~ /name at domain1\.tld/)

shared folders not working with . separator
Hi,
I've been trying this for weeks and never managed to get my mail client
to see shared folders.
Apparently imap_acl works fine as I can see these entries in the
dovecot-acl-list files and the correct entries persist in the client.
This is my first dovecot setup so I hope I've configured it right.
Everything else works beautifully, thanks.
# dovecot -n

shared folders not working with . separator
Thanks, this helped.
I added namespace virtual and removed the virtual references from inbox
namespace and added list = yes so now I can see shared folder in the client.
There's still nothing in there though.
I followed Christian's advice, debug shows this very strange behaviour.
doveadm acl debug -u user1 at domain1.com.au shared.user2 at domain2.com.au
doveadm(user1 at domain1.com.au):

virtual hosting
I'm trying to figure out how I might set up some virtual hosting
accounts for my server.
domain1 would be delivered via procmail to ~/Maildir mail directories
domain2 would be delivered via postfix to
/var/mail/vhosts/domain2/username and similarly for additional domains.
There's also one domain that's delivered to another machine, but that's
not a dovecot issue. I just

CentOS 6, Apache 2.2.15 and SNI?
Hello,
is Apache 2.2 which is part of the CentOS distribution capable of SNI?
I have troubles that are coming from server side (CentOS 6.8, Apache 2.2.15)
just did 'yum update'
in
/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
I've the following
NameVirtualHost ipaddr:443
Include /etc/httpd/conf/vhosts/vhost-ssldom1-box.conf
Include /etc/httpd/conf/vhosts/vhost-ssldom2-box.conf

Two domains - same user names filter
Hi,
I have two LDAP domains, which has some equal users, eg:
abc at domain1.com
abc at domain2.com
I sat up this config:
domain1 users maildirs are stored in /home/vmail/username
domain2 users maildirs are stored in /home/vmail/domain2/username
This works fine except one thing: i cant set up the ldap query to choose
the correct maildir if the user names are equal.
Is it possible to use a

dovecot ACL
Hi in Dovecot 2.x with virtual domains, is there a way specify what domains
can create shared directories and who can't? For example I have 3 domains,
domain1.com, domain2.com and domain3.com. Let's say I only want
domain1.com's users to create shared folders how can I go about doing this.
Thanks, Paul

SpamAssassin and Public Namespace
Hi I know i might get flamed for asking this in the dovecot mailing list
instead of the spamassassin one but i thought someone might be kind
enough to help anyway.
TIA
I'm trying to do site-wide spam filtering with a public namespace but
it's not reading the folder i have in the public namespace
This is the public namespace set in my dovecot.conf
#public spam folder

Replacement for antispam plugin
Hi!
Since antispam plugin is deprecated and we would really prefer people
not to use it, we wrote instructions on how to replace it with
IMAPSieve. Comments and suggestions are most welcome.

problem with a public folder
Hello,
Thanks for all the replies.
I've added a mailbox to the namespace definition for the public
folders. I can do a doveadm acl get -A "Public/general" works but
"Public/TestFolder" does not. Here's my 90-public.conf file:
#cat 90-public.conf
# Public mailboxes
namespace {
type = public
separator = /
prefix = Public/

virtual domain
we are currently using vm-pop3d to implement virtual domains. But due to some locking problem in vm-pop3d, we want to test the possibility to change to dovecot.
Currently, in vm-pop3d, the passwd file is located in
/etc/virtual/domain1.com/passwd
/etc/virtual/domain2.com/passwd
and the passwd format is:
user: md5 encrpted password
and the email is store in
/var/spool/virtual/domain1.com/user
