Simple way to get mailbox size by folder.
Hello Mike and Aki, Thanks for the response. I had been using FETCH 1:* in my IMAP module, but found it slow with folders with lots of messages or even large-sized messages folder. The doveadm seems elegant and faster but I hate to fork a command line from web-UI, for obvious security and performance reasons. It will be great if dovecot team will consider IMAP extensions to release doveadm

Separate quotas not displayed correctly
Hello all, My system is set up to have quotas both on /var/mail, where emails are received, and on /export/home, where users' homedirs are. But the client (Thunderbird) shows the same /export/home values both for the Inbox and for the folders in the homedir, so a user cannot know where she stands on her /var/mail use. This is Dovecot 1.1.5. As per the wiki, the dovecot.conf file contains

Problem with dynamic DNS
Why would I do that? This is a *computer* not *user* adding the record. It is supposed to match the "grant INTERNAL.DOMAIN.TLD ms-self * A AAAA;" rule but it does not. For some mystical reason. auth module logging
Hi, As per my discussion with cmouse on irc, I'm currently just using dovecot for its auth mechanism, etc capabilities (alas, Exim does not support argon directly). Tis a fun little side project. :) I have the config pared down as far as I think is reasonable (see below) and all is working well except that dovecot is very silent. Errors hit the logs but I would appreciate seeing successful

"GETQUOTA" Working?
Using beta9, I've tried "quota = dirsize:storage=10240" and "quota = maildir:storage=10240", but I can't seem to get the IMAP commands to respond: * OK Dovecot ready. a LOGIN user pass a OK Logged in. b CAPABILITY * CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 SORT THREAD=REFERENCES MULTIAPPEND UNSELECT LITERAL+ IDLE CHILDREN NAMESPACE LOGIN-REFERRALS b OK Capability completed. c

Questions regarding quota
Hi, I have some trouble trying to test the quota plugin. First off all, it says in the wiki: "Dovecot 1.0 supports quota using a quota plugin. It's currently discussed in Dovecot LDA page and it supports only very simple quota calculation which is suitable only for mboxes. Maildir++ quota support will come later." Does that mean that it won't work at all with Maildir++, or

Problem with dynamic DNS
(please reply to the list) If the record does not exist, then you have an other problem. Because samba does support this : cat /var/lib/samba/private/named.conf.update /* this file is auto-generated - do not edit */ update-policy { grant INTERNAL.DOMAIN.TLD ms-self * A AAAA; grant Administrator at INTERNAL.DOMAIN.TLD wildcard * A AAAA SRV CNAME; grant

observium graphs
Hello dovecot list, I'm in the middle of creating a plugin for observium[1] and would like to have it create[2] statistical graphs of my dovecot server [3]. The current state can be found here: https://image.ibb.co/efOO9a/dovecot.png However for visibility purposes it doesnt make sense and have observium plot two data sources with different orders of magnitudes right into one graph. Quota over NFS
Hey, I've been strugling to get quota working on my enviroment. I have one storage server that exports the 'home' dir. My mail server mounts the exported 'home' server at '/home' # dovecot --version > 1.1.14 I'm also running Postfix and using Dovecot/LDA as MDA so that we can use the Dovecot's Quota plugin. The thing is that if the user has exceeded

rquota didnot show userquota (Solaris 10)
Hi, we have a new fileserver running on X4275 hardware with Solaris 10U8. On this fileserver we created one test dir with quota and mounted these on another Solaris 10 system. Here the quota command didnot show the used quota. Does this feature only work with OpenSolaris or is it intended to work on Solaris 10? Here what we did on the server: # zfs create -o mountpoint=/export/home2

Pigeonhole External pipe script going zombie?
I?m running dovecot 2.2.27 and pigeonhole 0.4.16 on FreeBSD 11. I?m using the pigeonhole/sieve external pipe plugin to run a Perl program to send a Pushover notification when certain messages are received. The Perl script is executed, and the notification is sent. But then the script task seems to go zombie until it is killed after a timeout. In the user?s sieve log, I get a message like

imap-quota not working

[trees-plugin] - Dovecot index gets corrupted, when using maildir and recievend and accessing mail at the same time
Hello dovecot team, at first I want to thank you the awesome dovecot software. I'm currently researching and developing the trees plugin (https://0xacab.org/riseuplabs/trees). In the future I would love to package this software for debian. I run into a problem, which I can not fix by myself, that's why I'm reaching out to you. The plugin is producing a reproducible error, when using

Dovecot FINs after sending "NO Not showing other users' quota"
When I do imap getquota on a shared folder I see the NO response. That's OK but then often dovecot disconnects (sends FIN) to the client right after this. The client acks the disconnect and creates a new connection and continues on. Should dovecot disconnect after this type of imap "NO" response? -gene
