CIFS is single threaded, if you plan on using it with a large amount of users, you'll want to have faster cores. NFS is multi threaded, so you can take advantage of additional cores better. Hi, I have one user who should be able to _view_ all open files and connections on a samba server. He should not be allowed to login to the server by telnet or ssh to use smbstatus, nore should he be able to use swat as long as he could view the configfile. Hi, is there any way to sum and limit quotas for one user across multiple filesystems? E.g. I'd like to use different mountpoints on a mailserver for /var/mail and /home but the user should have only a total of 1GB. or on a samba server the windows profile files should be on an other filesystem as other files for that user. Hi, I try to enable userquota an a new xfs filesystem. Its centos 6.5, the filesystem is mounted with usrquota, the server was rebooted. I thought xfs_quota -x -c 'limit bsoft=20000m bhard=22000m username' /home would set the quota for that user. But I do get an error: Command limit not found. Did I miss something?
