Passing multiple addresses with masks to nwfilter
Hello, I have a nwfilter that I'm using to ensure that libvirt domains can't spoof IPv6 traffic. It looks like this: <filter name='no-ipv6-spoofing' chain='ipv6-ip' priority='-710'> <rule action='return' direction='out' priority='500'> <ipv6 srcipaddr='$IPV6' srcipmask='$IPV6MASK'/> </rule>

Login auth strip domain from username
Hi, I have just discovered that the IMAP account setup wizard in outlook 2019 assumes that the email address for a user is the same as their username, and there is no easy way to separately enter different user. (It can be done via hidden dialog boxes, command line switches and registry hacking, but it is far from easy [1]) Like many small setups, the dovecot accounts on my mail server map

FreeBSD DDoS protection
Hi, I have a router running BGP and OSPF (bird) on FreeBSD. Are there any best practises one can take in order to protect the network from DDoS attacks. I know this isn't easy. But I would like to secure my network as much as possible. Even if I'am not able to prevent or block a ddos I would like to get some info (snmp trap parhaps) regarding the attack. Then I can contact my ISP or

Spoofing a BLF Signal?
Is there anyway to "spoof" a BLF signal to a phone from within a dialplan? That being so I can turn a BLF light on or off on a phone when a certain thing happens in a dialplan?

DDoS
I know someone who for the past 4 days has been having the heck ddosed out of him. He runs a gaming server, and ran a report on the ddos; he has 8 pages of that and a few hours ago there were 16 pages. They''re attacking his machine on random ports and he blocks UDP traffic on those ports, but they keep attacking on other ports. So far he''s banned over 800,000 IP''s.

vif-common.sh and iptables
Hey everyone, I have a question about vif-common.sh. I run multiple bridges attached on dummy interfaces, which allow me to put guests in seperate subnets (routed through the dom0). As you might expect I already have quite extensive iptables scripts to accomidate this kind of routing. I was just hoping someone on this list can confirm, that I understand what the iptables lines in vif-common.sh

httpd - mysql - paypal.com.tar - hacker
Everyone, This morning I received a notice from PayPal that one of our sites got hacked and was spoofing a PayPal web site. When I checked the the site, I was surprised to find they were correct. About 5 days a go we had a server that got hacked and somehow the file paypal.com.tar got uploaded to our server and then stored in a a subdirectory of /var/www/. I had previously started a mysqld

Providing Telewest in the UK with per extens ion outbound callerID
Would be nice to do both (type 2 and 3 I believe in Oftel terms), but I'd accept just our DDI if that was all I could get. RE: [Asterisk-Dev] Open source time card application for Asterisk
A little bird whispers to me: Don't expect this particular trick to be un-addressed by various legislatures forever. That window is closing, and the bottom of the window looks very much like a guillotine blade - don't have your head in the wrong place. In any case, as has been discussed on -users before (which is where this thread should go, and thus where I'm relegating it)

FastCGI on IIS
Has anyone tried using Rails (or PHP or whatever) on IIS lately? There is a FastCGI extention for IIS 5.1 and 6.0 [1], backported from IIS7 if I understand correctly. I''m curious if anyone thinks this would work in production and give Rails a decent inroad for IIS-based shops. It seems to perform [2] but I would like some verification from the community at large before I mention the

Keeping it in separate files would add slightly

masquerading
Following Situation: Having an intranet-application that needs to know the ip-Address of the clients before running. Clients anywere in the Internet with any ip-address. So I thought about using masquerading the opposite way than normal. But then anybody could use this application. Dos anybody know how to make it a little bit more secure, like proofing the mac-address of the client, or something

POP3 dictionary attacks
I'm seeing strings of failed POP3 login attempts with obvious bogus usernames coming from different IP addresses. Today's originated from 216.31.146.19 (which resolves to neovisionlabs.com). This looks like a botnet attack. I got a similar probe a couple days ago. Is anyone else seeing these? The attack involves trying about 20 different names, about 3-4 seconds apart. Here's a

Caller ID spoofing
Hello everybody! I am having the following problem and since I am a beginner in playing with asterisk, i can't solve it: I am trying to integrate my existing H.323 network in real world telephony by ISDN cards. The problem is that i DON'T want to change all e164 numbers in my h.323 network and my ISDN provider doesn't accept those identities (CIDs). So, i have to spoof the outgoing
