Help configuring dovecot for SSL
Hi:
I'm running dovecot on a Fedora 3 box and would like to be able to
make a TLS connection to it with my Pegasus Mail program running on
my Winblows machine. Does anybody know if it is possible?
If it is I could really use some help configuring my dovecot. I have
tried for several days but I really don't know what I'm doing and
need a direction to start.
Thanks,

Address family not supported by protocol
Hello,
I am trying to run Dovecot on Arch Linux ARM on a Raspberry Pi, and there is an error when calling dovecot.
Related information is listed below.
Does anybody know if this is a code issue or a configuration issue?
Regards,

Issue with virtual folder: partially see them and cannot subscribe
You probably want to set subscriptions=no, so they will be done in the
parent namespace instead.

auth service stops responding
Hi all,
I am running postfix with dovecot configured for local mail delivery.
Everything works as expected for a while, but after successfully
delivering ~250 mails, dovecot does not accept requests anymore and
mails start queueing up in the postfix mailqueue. After restarting
dovecot, another ~250 mails are processed and the problem occurs again.
The server is running ubuntu 18.04 with dovecot

Also, thunderbird has a bug in subscription dialog that you need to
collapse and expand the levels to see more levels. Can you check your
subscriptions file that it gets added something?

Mailfiles gets duplicated
Hello,
With my configuration Dovecot creates multiple duplicates (sometimes 2,
sometimes 3, sometimes a plenty) of mailfiles when moving them into the
Sent or the Trash folders. This does not affect the Inbox folder. I
observed this while using Thunderbird on Ubuntu as a client as well as
K9-Mail on Android, therefore I expect this comes from the Dovecot
server and not from the client

Winbind auhentication
Helo all!
I'm trying to set up a dovecot server so that it authenticates local
user via /etc/passwd (I'm on a Freebsd 13.1) and via winbindd for
those that it cannot find localy. The samba suite is alive and well,
postfix gets happily mail from domain users and saves it with correct
name and permissions from the windows domain. If I try to authenticate
a domain user via wbinfo it works,

Slow authentication performance when switching folder

we have a problem with Dovecot 2.2.9 running on an AIX 7.1 and compiled

Large jumps in dovecot-uidlist
Since upgrading to Debian Wheezy I have been observing large jumps in
the value stored in dovecot-uidlist. The effect of these jumps is to
confuse some mail clients (Thunderbird, Opera Mail) causing them not to
display messages from a (random?) point in time onwards in the affected
folder.
I have been unable to determine the root cause of these jumps.
What I do know:
1. I never observed the

zlib errors after upgrading
unfortunately after re-installing 2.3.11.3, those broken-pipe errors
appear again. (on different, new files)
so for sure there is something broken with zlib.
I will go back to2.3.10.1 now.
attached is the configuration file, though it did not change between
2.3.10.1 and 2.3.11.3

what's wrong with this config file?
Hi. I'm setting up a new IMAPS server. Mail users don't have login access to the box but will each have unique UNIX-style UIDs: no back-end database or LDAP thing. So far. Their mail will get delivered to UNIX-style mailboxes in /var/mail/%u (where %u is the UNIX username obviously). Their IMAP folders will go in /var/imap/%u. These will contain subfolders once everyone migrates to the new

log contents questions?
I switched from using Pegasus and POP3 to Thunderbird and IMAP for my
email. Now I get a lot of "Corrupted index cache file" errors in my
log. Dovecot is running under Fedora 8 and is version 1.0.13-6.fc8.
The Thunderbird is version 2.0.0.14 running under Windows XP. My wife's
Blackberry is also using IMAP and not reporting any errors.
Any ideas what the problem is or how to
