Strange index error on NFS after upgrade to CentOS 7 from 6
Hi,
I'm running 3 Dovecot director and 6 Dovecot backend on CentOS 6 and
Dovecot 2.3.10, with Maildir shared on NFSv3 (on NetApp).
Since CentOS 6 will be EOL on November I started to upgrade to CentOS 7
the first Dovecot backend.
But after Director start to direct users on new CentOS 7 server some
errors, for any users, come up, an example:

Intel 10G X520-2 and iscsi storage poor performance
Hi,
we have a storageserver (Centos 6.4) with a dualport Intel 10G X520-2
Adapter.
A QSan P600Q-D316 Storage is configured with 8*SATA Drives raid 5 for
test, connected trought a Cisco UCS 6100 Series Fabric
Interconnect 10G Switch.
I formated the storage with ext4 defaults, one volume and got r/w rates
about 10MB/s some up to 40MB/s .... VERY POOR....
So we returned the storage to our dealer

NFSv4 delegation
just a quick update:
no issues with NFSv4.0 (load is slowly growing, currently ~7k mailboxes)
instead, bad news from delegation front, we enabled it for a couple of
days but we ran in ugly issues: processes went in "uninterruptible
sleep" state, load average gets huge, reboot was the only escape :-(

NFSv4 delegation
Hi,
Just out of curiosity what is in nfsv4 delegation that you think would give a benefit on your configuration?
If I read back the thread you seem to have dovecot configured with director ring in front of the backends. In that case Dovecot already manages storage in a way that only one of the backends is accessing each users data at a time. So I can?t see anything but problems form enabling

it's in place on a (very) small sample of mailboxes in dbox format, no issues
up to now (Debian Wheezy mainline kernel)

Samba and NFS locking on Netapp filers ?
Hello
I have troubles with some shares that are NFS mounted to a Netapp
filer, if I enable locking on that share, the file cannot be opened
by the windows client in write mode ( read only after a looong time )
Anyone has the same problem , it seems to be a Netapp bug but
they do not support samba at all :-) so I don't expect any answer
from them.
thanks

Intermittent NFS problems with NetApp server
I've been experiencing some intermittent problems accessing at NetApp
server via NFS and automount. I'm running CentOS 5.2 (fully updated)
on all my servers and workstations. Usually, everything is working
just fine, when suddenly we get the following error:
/bin/sh: /home/epd/srcref/swtools/Crontabs/
run_release_requests.sh: Permission denied

Xen + IPv6 + Netapp = NFS read problem
Hello
Maybe someone could direct us to right solution with the problem
descibed below. We tried different trick bo no success stories.
We have a development cluster based on Dell R815 servers (+-30) and
a storage server - Netapp FAS 3240 runnig Data Ontap 8.1p2.
We have some 100 virtual servers - we use Xen 4.1 for virtualisation.
A basics OS is Debian Squeeze with some backports packages

NFSv4 delegation
hi all,
i'm managing a large installation of a dovecot cluster in director + NFS
backend architecture and we are moving from NFSv3 to NFSv4. Our NFS
server is a Netapp in clustered mode and reading technical specs of
NFSv4 delegation feature it seems that enabling delegation in this type of
dovecot architecture should bring great benefits: only one backend server access
a specific mailbox at a

password expire warning for dovecot users in IMAP/POP login
Dear list,
Is it possible to give a notification about password exprire warning to
users authenticated by OpenLDAP when the users login via dovecot using
IMAP or POP? For example, when you ssh to a server and/or run
ldapsearch, you can be warned with password expire warning like below:
# ssh testuser at localhost
testuser at localhost's password:
Your password will expire in 31 minute(s).

Painfully slow NetApp with databas
Hello,
We have long running problem with NetApp filers. When we connect
server to the filer sequential read performance is ~70MB/s. But once
we run database on the server seq read performance drops to ~11MB/s.
That's happening with two servers. One is running Oracle another -
MySQL. During speed tests database load is very light (less than 1MB/s
of reads and writes). During the tests NetApp

Quota plugin and director
Hello dovecot!
I administer a dovecot installation with 30k users. I've got 4 dovecot directors as frontend
and 10 backends.
The mailbox are now in maildir format, with maildir++ quota, on a shared netapp filer.
Indexes are local on each backend.
I'm reconfiguring the quota plugin: as a first step, I want to use the clone plugin to keep a
copy of the quota on a redis database. Next,

File system permissions - setgid bit and Netapp NFS volumes
Greetings Dovecot List,
I have a bit of an edge case I am trying to resolve. I am currently
using dovecot on Ubuntu 14.04 - Ubuntu package version:
1:2.2.9-1ubuntu2.3
I have attached the output of doveconf -n to this email - but to
describe the configuration in a nutshell:
my server is configured to use Maildir storage
I do not use dovecot delivery service (there is a separate

Unable to (un)subscribe mbox with AIX, NFS and netapp filer
Hi Timo,
dovecot 1.2.0 is great! Faster and more stable on mboxes that 1.1.x by
far... good job :-)
Today I stumbled over a strange problem when I tried to subscribe an
existing Mailbox (mbox), which doesn't work.

I don't know the actual setup, but if you have no UPC you shouldn't host email
services anyway.
