Ubuntu packages and broken link in docs
Hi, Two things: 1. Does anyone know of a good PPA with updated packages of Dovecot for Ubuntu? "For the latest Dovecot for latest Ubuntu LTS see Xiaoka APT Repository. (Outdated. Could someone provide a ppa for latest stable Dovecot, please?)" 2. On the http://wiki2.dovecot.org/PrebuiltBinaries#Ubuntu page there is a link to a supposedly outdated PPA, the ppa page now redirects to

Where can I find a stable PPA?
Hello, As the subject says, where can I find a stable PPA of Dovecot v2.2 for Ubuntu 12.04? I found this <https://launchpad.net/~kokelnet/+archive/dovecot22>, but the description says, "...I declare them as unstable." For obvious reasons, I don't want to use this. What should I do? Thanks, Daniel

2.2.x autobuilds: Debian Stable now Wheezy, which pool for 2.2.x?
List, good evening, just installed a new Debian Stable (Wheezy). The Debian Stable repositories now include Dovecot 2.1.7 as standard. I haven't installed that because I wanted to try 2.2.x on this new clean install but unsure which 'pool' to use in the xi.rename-it.nl repository of autobuilds. http://xi.rename-it.nl/debian/pool/ Wheezy became Stable on May 5, just a few days

Automatic Debian packages for Dovecot v2.2.
Hi, For our testing enthusiasts I've created new automatic Debian repositories for Dovecot v2.2. Repositories are available for Debian oldstable, stable and testing, on both i386 and am64. Read the following wiki item for more information: http://wiki2.dovecot.org/PrebuiltBinaries#Automatically_Built_Packages The repository for Dovecot v1.2 has been defunct for a few months now and is

Sieve plus addressed mail filtering
Today I learned, that to filter incoming plus addressed mail (user+tag@?) I had to deviate from the documentation. There it reads: if envelope :detail "to" "spam"{ fileinto "Spam"; } Instead I had to write: if address :is :detail "To" "tag"{ fileinto "Tagged"; } Dovecot version is 2.2.13-1+bigmichi1~precise+1 -- peter

Dovecot Solr Panic
Hello Everyone, I have a small base of users (30), but a lot of emails. I have an error again when I am indexing a virtual folder with a large number of folders. I appreciate this is a special case, but I am using dovecot and solr as it is, according to the documentation, the favourite way. One user is using a large number of archives sub folders, by years, months and subfolders, since 5 years.

tags disappear in Thunderbird
We have - Dovecot 1.0.15 (the default on Debian Lenny stable) Thunderbird 3.1.4 In our installation the Inbox is a mbox and the other folders are maildir. When we tag messages in Inbox, the tags disappear after a while. In the other folders they stay. I found two possible solutions suggested - 1. Set mbox_lazy_writes=no 2. Convert the Inbox to maildir What would be the best approach in your

Replication on dovecot 2.0
Hi Guys I'm running an Ubuntu 12.04 LTS server and not being particually inclined to upgrade I'm wondering what options I have for replication as it appears to be running dovecot 2.0.19. I saw the wiki page about replication and whilst it says you should use 2.2+ it doesn't say what the minimum requirements are, so I tried doing what it says but I get: Fatal: Plugin

Automatic Debian Dovecot repository now also includes amd64 binary packages.
Hi, I've recently significantly improved the automated Dovecot Debian package builder. At the beginning it only produced i386 binaries for Debian testing. A few weeks back I added a slave builder that builds packages for Debian stable. Today I have extended the slave builder with support for multiple architectures and I've added amd64 binaries to the repository. The master builder

ACL group-override question
Trying to get ACLs working, very basic setup: Virtual users are put into different acl_group via passdb. > u:{PLAIN}B::::::userdb_acl_groups=g The global acl file restricts what they can do. > * group-override=g > * group=g lr Shouldn't this mean, that the group rights override the user rights? The effect that I see though is, that the user "u" then may not do

traffic not going through tunnel
Dear all, we have a very strange problem, - we have 3 VPN endpoints - all are in one NETWORK - all daemons come up and connect without any problem and normally we have no problem working through the VPN but in some cases the connection does not work because the traffic leaves the TAP interface on one VPN endpoint but never arrives on the other end, the similarities between the packages seem to

Outdated r-base-core when installing on Ubuntu 14.04
Ok, first I poked around the ubuntu tablet and related PPAs to see if I could find one with an ARM port of R, but no luck. Next I tried a debian install - jessie is supported on Crouton and it installs and runs basically without a hitch. But I run into the same problem installing R - using only a cran debian source and none of Rutter's PPAs. Now r-base-core is only available up to 3.1.1-1.
