checkpassword auth issues
Hi,
ok, I'm am developing a new solution that includes dovecot, and will be
wanting to use the latest sieve implementation, so I have chosen to
start with 1.2 as the base.
I had a working install of 1.1.8 installed, and got a checkpassword
setup working properly with it to authenticate a user. I used the passdb
to call checkpassword, and the prefetch userdb to tell it to use the
values that

Setting hostdomain
Hi all,
Preparing for a replication setup, I read (at the bottom of
<http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Replication>) that `dovecot --hostdomain` should
give a different output on the two servers. This is not the case for me: both
give "localhost". I'm trying to change my configuration to set the hostdomain
to another value, but I can't find how to do this.
I tried:

rquotad (NFS) quota plugin
The attached patch is an updated version of my quota-rquotad patch for the
quota plugin. Like quota-fs, it only does quota reporting, not enforcing or
changing. It also only works on FreeBSD, and possibly other *BSD's. It lacks
any and all configure-time tests to see if RPC is even supported, and
hardcodes the (Free)BSD way of getting at the NFS server of an NFS mount.

kqueue crash on FreeBSD with 2.2.25
Hi,
2.2.25 crashes on FreeBSD with a kqueue-related message. I see references to something similar (http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2012-February.txt) from a couple years ago.
I get:
Jul 1 10:07:27 imap dovecot: master: Panic: kevent(EV_ADD, READ, 54) failed: Bad file descriptor
It's not dumping core, and I get the message even with "protocols ="

dsync ignores ssh-agent
I use IMAP over SSH, in pre-auth. I wanted to use dsync to offline mail to
my laptop.
dsync v2.1.10 would always ask for my SSH key/passphrase, ignoring
ssh-agent. The culprit is the env_clean() in the stack below.
Reading the source, I saw DOVECOT_PRESERVE_ENVS. When used as follows in
my script it enables dsync to find my ssh-agent:
export DOVECOT_PRESERVE_ENVS="SSH_AGENT_PID

Replication with SSL
Hello,
- Set up a pair of servers according to http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Replication
-Enabled SSL for both servers
- Dovecot version: 2.2.13 (Debian 8.6)
I couldn't find an option to specify the certificate that doveadm should
use when connecting to the other server. Both servers have hostnames
that are different, as verified by dovecot --hostdomain(as per the
instructions) but use a

dsync crash
Hello,
I am getting a persistent seg fault while trying to sync our server to a new location.
We are on 2.2.33.2, due for an upgrade but we have used dsync successfully in the past. In fact, we used it to populate this same instance. So I hope this is just a configuration issue.
My logs are being filled with these errors::

Change dovecot hostname
Well, I tried setting the following in /etc/environment and restarting the
server:
DOVECOT_HOSTDOMAIN="mail.domain.test"
After doing so, I verified that the command "dovecot --hostdomain" returned
"mail.domain.test" and not "appserver4.domain.com"; however, the email
received header still shows:
Received: from mail.domain.test by appserver4.domain.com

Hi,
I'm seeing the following in my logs. Twice so far, no idea what caused
it. I do however have the core dump if that is of any use.
