vacation script issue
Hello, I have a complete Postfix + Dovecot + openLDAP setup almost working, the only issue I have is the vacation script auto-reply that doesn't work properly. If I send an email to a user with the vacation filter enabled, the auto-reply is send to a local recipient with the same account name. So for example if I send a mail from test at xyz.com to test at example.com, the auto-reply is

Password expiration
Hello, I still can't figure out why my users' passwords are expiring. Ever since we switched to LDAP, passwords expire every 14 days. Here is an example LDAP user entry: version: 1 # LDIF Export for: uid=sgoodrich,ou=Users,dc=trec,dc=us # Generated by phpLDAPadmin ( http://phpldapadmin.sourceforge.net/ ) on September 6, 2005 10:56 am # Server: TREC (localhost) # Search Scope: base #

adding user ldif to ldap
hi list.. I am trying to add an ldif with my users that I have derived from /etc/passwd. for some reason ldapadd is choking on the first entry... I've also tried removing the first one and predictably each one fails in exactly the same way...may I ask how best to correct this? Here is the error: LDAP# ldapadd -x -D "cn=Manager,dc=summitnjhome,dc=com" -W -f /tmp/passwd.ldif adding

NFS Hanging Under Heavy Load
Hello all, I'm currently experiencing an issue with an NFS server I've built (a Dell R710 with a Dell PERC H800/LSI 2108 and four external disk trays). It's a backup target for Solaris 10, CentOS 5.5 and CentOS 6.2 servers that mount it's data volume via NFS. It has two 10gig NICs set up in a layer2+3 bond for one network, and two more 10gig NICs set up in the same way in another

Re: Does virsh actually work?
Try creating a blank file on the target system at /mnt/store01/virt/e7f75b9b-9ed4-4f7e-aa86-e481ab911d6f.qcow2 on 'dewey'. Migrations really don't go well when the target disk doesn't exist. I'm not certain why this is, I think the migration feature was mainly built with shared storage in mind. On 9/3/2014 3:05 PM, Gary Hook wrote: > I have been beating my head against

LDAP stored quota
I noticed that you sent replies to me directly... Anyways, seems the problem was that the LDAP user_attrs is missing commas, and the mailRoutingAddress is used wrong, so the correct syntax would be: user_attrs = \ mailRoutingAddress=user, \ =uid=vmail, \ =gid=mail, \ =home=/var/mail/%d/%n, \ =quota_rule=*:bytes=%{ldap:departmentNumber} Aki > On 22 November 2018 at 15:29

Nagging performance issues with Vista
Hi All, I've got some performance issues with Samba and Vista that I just can't seem to figure out. Googling and fiddling has all been in vain up until now, so I'm not sure what I can do other than wait for Samba 4, but maybe someone here can find something I've missed. First off, the server is an Athlon 64 1.8GHz running Gentoo 2006.1, tested with both Samba 3.0.24 and

Does virsh actually work?
I have been beating my head against a wall attempting to get virsh to migrate a simple VM from one host to another. I have two systems running Ubuntu 14.04 with libvirt 1.2.2. Yes, they are bridged. Non-shared storage. Modest guest VM that only requires 100G of disk space; there is far more available. In trying to accomplish even the simplest migration (per every page I can find from both the

givenname and email address with smbldap-tools
Hi all, I have setup samba / openldap as describes by the idealx howto and as such I am using the smbldap-tools. However, I would like to add the givenname and email address fields for all users. What is the best way to do this? I would prefer continuing to use the smbldap-tools, but I cannot seem to find a good way to do this. When I try to: $ smbldap-usermod -M testuser@testdomain.net

vacation script issue
After some additional research and testing, it seems that my vacation auto-reply is working when the sender doesn't have the same username (%n) as a local account on the recipient imap server. If test at xyz.com sends an email to test2 at example.com, the vacation auto-reply is triggered but delivered to the wrong mailbox. Suppose I have an account test at example.com on my imap server,
