doveadm/dsync/imapc and foldernames including a "%"
We're using doveadm/dsync/imapc to migrate accounts from Courier to Dovecot 2.2.20. On the source-server some user have folder names including a "%" in their name. Looks like doveadm isn't able to handle that folder names. I always stops with: dsync(testtest): Error: Failed to access mailbox INBOX.Test%TEST: Mailbox does not exist, or must be subscribed to. Assertion failed with imapc after upgrading Dovecot from 2.1.7 to 2.2.9
Hi ! I have an old Courier IMAP and in front of it, I have put a proxy cache with Dovecot/imapc. I use Debian Wheezy (stable) which package Dovecot in version 2.1.7. I have tested the upgrade to Debian Jessie (testing) which package Dovecot in version 2.2.9 but an assertion is thrown : dovecot: imap(xxx): Panic: file imapc-list.c: line 499 (imapc_list_delete_unused_indexes): assertion failed:

dsync migration from maildir layout=fs to maildir seperator / - folders or inbox but not both
Am attempting to bring my mailserver back to home server post house move and whilst I could use rsync have been trying to get to grips with dsync. However, I seem to have an issue - my current server specifies mail_location as maildir:/var/vmail/%d/%n/Maildir:LAYOUT=fs and my imapc config on new server is as follows ... imapc_host = old.mailserver.host imapc_user = %u imapc_master_user =

Using dsync to export mail to remote IMAP account
I've read the web/man pages on dsync, but it's not clear to me whether dsync can be used to export (rather than import) a user's mailbox to a remote non-dovecot IMAP account. (The intention is to use it whenever a user leaves and wants to copy their local mail to Google or whatever. I currently use uw-imapd's mailutil -- it works, but it's dreadfully slow.) As a first crack

Dovecot migration via dsync : mail_location problem (INBOX) ?
Hello, I'm trying to migrate mail accounts from an old dovecot 1.0.15 to a new dovecot 2.2.26. I've set up a master-user on old dovecot, and I run dsync on new server, like this : # doveadm -D -o mail_fsync=never sync -R -u user at domain.tld imapc: my user at domain.tld looks like this (on the new server): # doveadm user user at domain.tld field value uid 2000 gid 2000 home

Problem with Thunderbird and mailbox with SPECIAL-USE flag
Hi ! I have an old Courier IMAP and in front of it, I have put a proxy cache with the great Dovecot. SOGo webmail is connected to the proxy and works great (very very more fast) but I have a problem with Thunderbird : mailbox with ? SPECIAL USE ? aren't automatically detected. To make that works, I must : - in Dovecot : define the namespace inbox : ? prefix = ? and ? separator = . ? - in

dsync having problems with @-sign in mailbox names
Hi there We are running Cyrus-to-Dovecot migrations using dsync on destination Dovecot server (Debian Stretch / latest Dovecot 2.3.7.2 from community repo) like this: $ doveadm -o mail_fsync=never backup -R -u <username> imapc: For imapc configuration to connect to remote Cyrus server, see below [1]. While this works great for hundreds of mailaccounts, dsync fails with the following

dsync \noselect on INBOX.INBOX skips sync of INBOX
Hi Timo, We have encountered an issue today with a number of migrations. Some customers have mailboxes on the source IMAP server that look like this: 3 LIST "" * * LIST () "." "INBOX" * LIST () "." "INBOX.Statements" * LIST () "." "INBOX.Draft" * LIST () "." "INBOX.Drafts" * LIST () "."

migration from IMAP/POP3 courier server to a remote dovecot server
Dear all i'm planning a transparent migration from a courier server that provides both IMAP and POP3 access to users to a remote dovecot server with both IMAP and POP3 access. I have to migrate about 2500 users for 250 GB of space. I'm using dovecot 2.2.5.4 on debian6 squeeze. To make a transparent migration i have to maintain old IMAP UIDs and POP3 UIDs, so i've read

What does `iterate_query` for SQL want as output?
Hi all, In an earlier thread, https://dovecot.org/pipermail/dovecot/2019-August/116694.html I got a lot of useful help about migration. On my older host, everything was static; on the newer host, I?m storing user information in Postgres. usernames are of the form <login at REALM>, say ?hile at coyhile.com? as basically a Kerberos principal, and authentication and individual lookups work.
