Sieve too rfc compliant ;-)
It seems we have a few email addresses that are not RFC 5322 compliant,
and now that we've started using sieve these are failing. The problem is
that we have a few addresses with leading, trailing or double dots in
the local part:
jan..frode at tanso.net
.janfrode at tanso.net
janfrode. at tanso.net
I believe these has been working fine with everything else in dovecot

XP gives Access denied for domain logon - solved, but with new problem
I found the solution to the Access Denied errormessage.
When I change my computer from workgroup to domain I have to use user
root when giving username and password. I used frode, a non priviliged
user, and that?s why it failed.
I still have another problem though. When I try to log on with user anna
on my laptop it works fine, but if I try user anna on my stationary, or
user frode on either

GPFS for mail-storage (Was: Re: Compressing existing maildirs)
Great information, thank you. Could you remark on GPFS services hosting mail storage over a WAN between two geographically separated data centers?

XP gives Access denied for domain logon
Samba 3.0.2a-Debian
I have a somewhat working PDC server, but have some difficulties adding
more users. I managed to create a user, anna, a couple of days ago, it
she works fine from my wireless laptop.
To sort out some problems I have with the logon.bat script [see
sambalist "Netlogon script executes randomly"], I am also including my
desktop computer to the domain.
I've run

Updated status on UEFI compliant version of the pxechn-module
Hi,
Ok, when can we then anticipate pxe-chaining to be possible with syslinux under the UEFI architecture? Are there any plans to implement both correct interfacing to UEFI as well as the issue of arbitrary UEFI images? Haven't tried to read the UEFI-specification as it is sub 3000-pages long, so I am a bit in the dark as to the changes in architecture from BIOS to UEFI. It has been

FreeBSD Update, kernel.debug
Hello,
I recently had a crash on one of my servers running 6.0-SECURITY.
However, I am unable to debug it because kernel.debug is not
distributed with FreeBSD update.
Is it available from the build cluster, or is it at least possible to
make it available in future updates?
I am looking for a kernel.debug for this kernel:
# uname -a

Missing Files/Missing Folders from an NFS Share
Ok, starting to make sense now. In order to fix it....
I note that the lower level calls are wrapped in dir.c - eg
dptr_SeekDir(...) wraps SeekDir(...)
this might allow for some code to use array indexes instead of NFS cookies
as noted by Chris Chilvers here for the 3.10 kernel:

Missing Files/Missing Folders from an NFS Share
Alternately, we could possibly modify the dptr_TellDir function to set a
flag somewhere if it ever returns a negative offset. Then any calls to
dptr_SeekDir checks if the flag is set and does a slower approach of a
RewindDir and then multiple ReadDir & TellDir calls until we get the
matching offset. If flag is not set then go with the normal SeekDir call???

Problem connecting XP to domain: "...specified domain either does not exist..."
Hi,
Samba 3.0.2a, Debian linux, 2.6.5 kernel, PDC server, WinXP clients.
I'm getting the following error when I try to add an XP machine to our
domain.
"The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted."
I've applied the SIGN-OR-SEAL patch.
The computer is connected through a wireless NIC to the network. I am
able to ping the server.

Getting stats for logged in domain users?
Samba 3.0.2a, Debian linux, 2.6.x kernel, PDC server, WinXP clients.
Hi, I'm setting up a samba server for one of our branch offices.
During the monitoring of the server I'd like to be able to view how many
domain users, and which ones, are logged in on the domain at particular
times. The users use WinXP.
Is there any way of getting number of logged on domainusers, their IP's

utility to update indexes ?
We have both dovecot and a webmail application that are both modifying
our users maildirs, so dovecot indexes can be out of sync when the
webmail has been messing with the maildirs. We also have a webservice
that report how many unread messages a user has in his inbox, which is
simply counting files in the maildirs (plus caching the result, and
present old values if the directory timestamps hasn?t

dsync convert Maildir -> mdbox, separators in subscriptions file
Hello,
I'm playing around with Dovecot 2.0 beta 4.
If I use dsync to convert a users mail stored in Maildir format to mdbox format, the subscriptions file in the new mdbox is created using the wrong mailbox separator ('.') leading to folders within folders not being readable by clients using the subscription feature.

Cannot sync browser list
Hi,
Samba 3.0.2a, Debian linux, 2.6.x kernel, PDC server, WinXP clients
I'm setting up a PDC server, and it's also acting as a browse master.
A few days ago the computer was given the IP adress 10.0.0.6 by our DHCP
server.
Since then I've changed the network to use 192.168.1.x IP's instead, and
the server has now got 192.168.1.3 as it's IP.
But, even though I've

doveadm delete-user ?
IMHO it would be great if we could both provision and un-provision users
without having the provisioning system mess with files in the
filesystem. Provisioning new users works fine since dovecot will create
all files/directories on first login, but I haven?t found the tools to
un-provison them. I see "doveadm mailbox delete" can delete individual
mailboxes, but what about indexes,
