Dovecot frequently full-text reindexes the whole maildir
Hi,
I'm not an expert, but am doing something similar (moving messages and training the spam filter).
To detect the existence of new messages looking directly at the maildir can be a quick and dirty solution to get a trigger event.
But to move or delete I think you should use 'doveadm' to search for all messages in your spam directory and get a list of all uids an guids. Then you

slow incremental indexing of maildirs with squat
Hi!
I'm using Dovecot 2.1.7 on Debian Wheezy 32-bit (package version is
1:2.1.7-7+deb7u1) with maildirs.
My problem is that the incremental indexing of maildirs with squat takes
a very long time... I don't know if it reindexes anything, but it seems
it iterates though all messages on each search query and reads them. It
works fast only on successive queries within several minutes,

reindexing
Hello
I just jumped into xapian, so my question could be quite basic, but I
haven't found anything really useful in the list.
I'm using xapian to make a fulltext search on our local servers,
including some pdf's and doc files, but also our own filetypes. Anyway,
I managed to write an indexer in php and it works fine.
My problem is however, that I have to reindex everything when just

Schema extension
Hello,
we have a single DC after a clssicupgrade and we need to extend the
schema. So we created a attrib.ldif with all our attributes and a
object.ldif to add the attributes to the "CN=User" Object. We tested the
two ldif-files on a DC with only a few users and groups and it works
fine. Then we did the classicupgrade (same NC as the test-system) we
have more then 30.000 users

[LLVMdev] PHINode containing itself causes segfault when compiling Blender OpenCL kernel with R600 backend
Hi!
I'm trying to run Blender using Mesa OpenCL implementation on a radeonsi
card. First the kernel didn't want to compile, but that was caused by a
bug in it (they were using . instead of -> in 1 place), and after fixing
this bug I've got the kernel to compile...
...But after that, LLVM started to crash during translation of IR into
shader code with R600 backend.

acts_as_ferret: reindexing it too slow
Hi,
Recently, I was trying to play around with AAF and found that reindexing
table is very slow. Then I started looking into Ferret performance and
tried myself and found that it''s very fast. Then, I just used Ferret to
index my table and it was also very fast. All good.
Then why reindexing using AAF is slow. After sometime I found that in
the AAF, it uses (:key => :id) in

Error with :create => true and existing index
I implemented a "reindex" command which simply creates an IndexWriter
with :create => true for a prexisting index.
The "reindexing" seems to start out ok, with several thousand docs
added, then Ferret throws an exception:
IO Error occured: couldn''t rename file "index\_0.tmp" to "index\_0.cfs":

I guess that _0.cfs is held

Advise on slowness in bootstrapping?
I am looking at trying to use ferret/aaf to supplement my querying against a
medium and large table with lots of columns. Some facts first:
Ferret 0.11.4
AAF 0.4.0
Ruby 1.8.6
Rails 1.2.3
Medium table:
105,464 rows
168 columns (mostly varchar(20))
11 actual columns indexed in aaf plus
40 virtual columns indexed in aaf (virtual is concat of two physical columns.

Problem with samba-tool --reindex
Hi,
I have 2 DC's. One is running 4.10.18 and the other is running 4.11.14.
I am planning on upgrading the 4.10.18 DC to 4.11.14 and then both up to
4.12r.latest.
In doing this I ran samba-tool dbcheck --reindex and got the following warning:
(vdc1 pts8) # samba-tool dbcheck --reindex

disabling automatic indexing in acts_as_ferret
I''d like to be able to enable/disable the automatic indexing of
documents acts_as_ferret does. Something like MyModel.disable_indexing
MyModel.enable_indexing would be perfect. I need this because I do some
indexing that requires visiting the parents of the model objects and my
import method imports the children first, so the information isn''t there
yet. I''d like to

Ferret::StateError while using acts_as_ferret
I''m fairly new to ferret / aaf and finding it much easier to use than
HyperEstraier (which I migrated from). However, I am getting a few
errors and I need to figure out if they''re problems with my usage of
ferret or a bug I should report. I''m currently running Ferret 0.10.11
with acts_as_ferret (latest via svn external) and 3 times today I''ve

Solr clusters
Hi all,
Has anyone implemented larger Dovecot+Solr clusters and would be willing to give some details about how it works for you? My understanding about it so far is:
- SolrCloud isn?t usable with Dovecot. Replication isn?t useful, because nobody wants to pay for double the disk space for indexes that could be regenerated anyway. The autosharding isn?t very useful also, because: I think the

Trying to use solr
Hi,
I am finally trying to use an fts engine with dovecot. My version is
2.3.7.2 under Ubuntu 20.04.
I installed solr 7.7.3 and then 8.6.0 to see if this was a
version-related error. I copied the schema from 7.7.0 as many people
said this was fine.
I get the following error when trying to reindex a user's mailbox:

Automatic reindexing of associated columns acts_as_taggable
Hi,
So i''m trying to use acts_as_taggable with the acts_as_ferret plugin,
where I have Post.rb model, which has a method tag_list made available
through acts_as_taggable, as returns a string of associated tag words
from the tags table (tag.rb). I''ve set up my Post.rb model in the
following way.
class Post < ActiveRecord::Base

Double work at Model.rebuild_index
I''m noting that every time I run Model.rebuild_index its running twice
the rebuild_index. Also, on ferret_index.log there is only one small
difference from the first and second time, see:
First time it shows:
rebuild index: []
reindexing model User
After it finishes, it automatically starts the second time and shows;
rebuild index: [["User"]]
reindexing model User
