folder hierarchies with migration from cyrus to dovecot2
Hi, I finally migrated my IMAP server from cyrus to dovecot2. I have been using cyrus since many years and have not much experience with dovecot yet though. I've converted my imap server using cyrus2dovecot (several times until I thought it was correct) but there is one thing left which confuses me and I'm not sure what I can or need to do to change it. With Cyrus I used

Migrating from Cyrus to Dovecot
Hi, we are migrating from Cyrus 2.3.7 to Dovecot 2.2.13. We have ~7000 maildirs with ~500GB. Our goal is to do the migration without users have notice and with the shortest service downtime. The users use IMAP (with shared folders and ACL), POP3 and sieve filters. As a first choice, we tried the Dovecot's dsync tool. First tests were great, but we are not able to change the Cyrus auth

deleting Cyrus mailbox with empty name
A junior administrator of mine mistakenly created a mailbox with an empty name, by typing into cyradm the commands: createmailbox user/$lb setquota user/$lb 10000 He will of course shortly receive an extra lesson on shell variables, but meanwhile I find myself confronted with the problem how to get rid of the mailbox he created. So far all attempts have failed: [cyrus at posthamster ~]$

Problems Converting from Cyrus to Dovecot (cyrus2dovecot)
Thank you for the reply. I did find imapsync whilst perusing Google. I will give it a shot, it sounds more realistic/reliable. I have a hoard of emails going back to 1999, so I want as few errors as possible :) On 11/7/15 3:31 PM, Philon wrote: > Hi there, > > I was in the same position, but for mutliple accounts. Problems Converting from Cyrus to Dovecot (cyrus2dovecot)
Hello, Because it did not work ? In a similar situation, we where forced to use isync/mbsync in imap to imap mode because dsync did not work. It was reported here more than a year ago (May 2014). Time to time, I see the same report from other trying to use dsync to do a migration to dovecot. Dsync is a very appealing and elegant solution to this usage, but it does not always work in real

Problems Converting from Cyrus to Dovecot (cyrus2dovecot)
Hi, No, I tried fetching over imapc too exactly as you suggested. In my case it was not from cyrus, but from CriticalPath. isync was finally able to do the job, preserving flags and doing UIDs mapping. The most boring part was generating proper config file for thousands of accounts. A working imapc/dsync would have been better. Emmanuel. Le 26/11/2015 15:24, Sami Ketola a ?crit : > Hi,

Complete migration from Cyrus on remote server
Hi All! I am working on a complete migration from an old solaris machine running Cyrus IMAP v2.3.14 and wish to migrate all users to a new ubuntu vm running Dovecot 2.0.19. What I have so far is a fully functional dovecot installation with LDAP / Dovecot SASL auth using Maildir++. My plan is to use Perdition IMAP proxy on a third host and migrate users a few at a time (see attached picture of

Cyrus-imapd update from 2.2.12 to 2.3.16
We are trying to move our mail store from a host running cyrus-imapd 2.2.12 under CentOS-4 to one running 2.3.16 under CentOS-6. The current host is a 32 bit architecture. The new host is 64 bit. cyrus-imapd, sendmail and delivering plus address formats
CentOS-4.8 cyrus-imapd-2.2.12-10 sendmail-8.13.1-3.3 I have a mail hub which uses cyrus-imap with sendmail It has worked well for us on this and prior hosts going back to 1995. And, I do not have a problem with the current setup. What I would like to do however, is to deliver plus-formatted e-mail addresses directly to users subfolders in their mailbox tree. Such addresses take the form
