Migrating with dsync and INBOX.INBOX namespace issue
I'm working on migrating IMAP users from Mirapoint Message Servers to Dovecot servers. The Mirapoint IMAP server uses INBOX as a namespace for private mailboxes. I created the same namespace in Dovecot, but when I migrate mailboxes dsync seems to ignore/miss the namespace on Mirapoint and I end up with all mailboxes under a INBOX.INBOX hierarchy. Optimizing search performance for mobile devices / web mailer / general - solr plugin config
Hi all, we run dovecot for a long time now with no complains from the users ? until this week. Some users say, the search in mailfolders from iPhone (which only stores a few mails and search most on the server as I know) or our web mailer (SOGo, which I currently search also on the imap server) is ?slow?. As this is sort of individual experience, I was thinking of ways to speed up the search and

Hi, one Fedora user complains about not some troubles after update to dovecot 1.2. He suspects wrong capability information given by dovecot 1.2 In dovecot.conf he uses imap_capability= option. Rails is slow on Apache !!!
Hi , I have rails running on my development machine. I have installed mod_ruby and set up the httpd.conf file to add handlers for .rb files. But the speed I get is still slow compared to webrick which is blazingly fast. I have 2 questions 1. How do I determine if mod_ruby is loaded and is being used to run my ruby scripts ? 2. Which of these fcgi /mod_ruby is faster ? Thanks vivek --------------

More effective mailbox fetching over high RTT link
Could you offer some suggestion how to fetch mailbox content over high RTT link (with negligible packet loss)? Currently I use IMAP+IDLE *but* it fails to use full available bandwidth due to high RTT and "send command wait for response" nature of POP3 and IMAP4 protocols. -- [pl>en: Andrew] Andrzej Adam Filip : anfi at onet.eu Learning without thought is labor lost; thought

Telephone systems and Dovecot
Hi folks, We're looking to integrate our telephone system with our email system. The telephone system will use IMAP4 to store WAV files in a users mailbox and then retrieve them for playing if necessary. This is usually called "unified messaging". The manufacturers are claiming full integration with Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes using IMAP4 and a single username and
