Authentification Dovecot + Samba4
Hello list, I am struggling with setting up dovecot 2.1.7 with samba 4.1.2 on debian wheezy. Dovecot should authenticate via LDAP, but I?cannot get it to work reliably. Sometimes auth works, sometimes not. Referals are already activated in ldap.conf ? LDAP-authentication works fine with other clients (Apache Directory Studio, ?)? Has somebody got a similar setup running? I would love some hints

LDAP w/SASL "Active Directory" authentication failing.
Hello, I am running a Dovecot server (version 1.2.17) on FreeBSD 8.2, using LDAP to authenticate Active Directory users. I can successfully bind and authenticate using PLAIN and LDAP without SASL, but obviously passwords for the bind user and the user being authenticated are being passed in plain text. I've attempted to configure my server to us SASL however when I attempt to authenticate a

userdb with LDAP
Hi list I currently having troubles to "connect" dovecot (for proxy) to an existing LDAP. If I got the dovecot wiki right only userdb is needed for a proxy setup where the proxy does not authenticate but just forward to the backend for authentication. So I setup the following in dovecot-ldap.conf.ext user_attrs = =password,=y=nopasswd,=y=proxy, mailHost=host user_filter =

Dovecot LDA LDAP lookups on samba4 server ends very often in timeouts
I hope that someone will be so kind to help me into solving this really strange thing (don't know if it is a bug or not) I have a samba4 server and want to use postfix+dovecot - dovecot version is 2.0.11 as for the postfix side everything is OK (all the LDAP lookups works without any error, tested also manually with postmap -q) the real pain is with dovecot deliver: it seems that

Problem with lmtp proxy
Hello everyone, I have set up postfix to deliver mails to dovecot (2.0.16) using LMTP. On the other hand, I've successfully configured the IMAP proxy setting in dovecot in order to be able to distribute mailboxes among different servers. I wanted to do the same proxy at LMTP level, but it's not working. If I put lmtp_proxy = no, then everything works ok (assuming the mailbox is local),

Installing Dovecot on Gentoo
Hi, I have an already working dovecot server on Ubuntu 10.04 with self-created packages version 2.1.13. This setup is working prefect. Now that I do not wish to continue using Ubuntu (to much work for Upgrading), I decided to switch to Gentoo, as I had made best experiences in the past? I have installed Dovecot on Gentoo and I copied over all my configs and certs and stuff. Also created a user

ldapsearch against Samba4 AD questions
Things goes further. To use GSSAPI and so the Kerberos ticket obtained with kinit I was missing "-Y GSSAPI". TLSVerifyClient demand or try
Hi all! I'm very close to have a fully functional samba and openldap. Thanks to idealx.org. I just need to understand how it works. Everything works accept one thing. When I change TLSVerifyClient allow to TLSVerifyClient demand in slapd.conf and do: ldapsearch -x -ZZ -b 'dc=yourdomain,dc=com' '(objectclass=*)' -d 127 in the end I get: ldap_chkResponseList for msgid=2, all=1

My dovecot works fine against Active Directory 2003, but not against AD2008
Hello, my dovecot installation has been working fine against AD till we upgrade from AD 2003 to AD 2008. As http://wiki2.dovecot.org/AuthDatabase/LDAP said, now I'm not able to connect AD through 389 port. The port 3268 works fine though. (...) Asterisk and SIPphone won't cooperate
When attempting to call one of the example numbers, like 17474745000, I only get "488 Not Acceptable Here". It works fine when I configure the softphone (Xten X-Lite) to use sipphone's server directly. Am I missing something? Here's my relevant config sections: sip.conf: in [general]: register => 17472442457:mypassword@proxy01.sipphone.com [sipphone] type=friend

LDAP authentication
If you allow anonymous search on AD maybe you can try to set auth_bind = no . a.
